Hi guys, I am having a problem with my Viewsonic VA1912wb monitor. It can turn on and got image (can see it thru using flashlight), but the inverter was out. At first I thought was capacitor problem. And I found out 4 of the capacitors are leaked and bulged. Then I replaced all at the outputs area but after trying again the same symptom still occurs. The only capacitors I didn't replace is the big one and the 2 small ones in the middle, rated at 22uF 50v and 47uF 50v respectively. If I change those 2 will it assure the inverter will work again? If this fails I don't plan to invest anymore on it. Or is it probably the primary capacitor fails?

Re: Viewsonic VA1912wb-4 after replace cap still not working
Some boards have a small pico fuse near the inverter. Could be the other 2 small caps also check the inverter transformer 2874005300m. With the power disconnected use a multi-meter the coil on the primary side should read close to zero maybe 1 or 2 ohms. The two secondary side coils should each read between 1k and 2k ohms and should both read the same. That transformer is available on eBay for under $10. -

Re: Viewsonic VA1912wb-4 after replace cap still not working
My transformer is a similar type but different part number. My bad one read about 0.1-0.2 ohms on the primary side. One winding of the secondary read 1020 ohms the other was 848 ohms. When I opened it up the 848 ohm side had burn marks. Yours must be a bit different specs. but as both secondary windings show exactly the same at 750 ohm i wold assume it's is ok. Not likely that they would both fail with the same 750 reading. I ordered a new one but don't have it yet.Comment

Just of curiosity, what happened hear? success
I am just starting to look at my va1912wb which has symptombs of capacitor problems, takes long time to turn on and clicking sound with flashing green light.Last edited by starling22; 05-15-2018, 06:18 PM.Comment

It appears I must have fixed my Viewsonic back 6 years ago, probably replaced caps, because it has worked well till this week. now it is failing, I think it is just the back lighting.
Power LED comes on but no other screen activity. As it is part of a two monitor setup the second screen has provided interesting information.
If I remove the signal cable all the icons on the dead screen assembled in the second monitor and system working [in a fashion, but too many icons to wade through]
Power down and reconnect the signal cable and power up again, the invading icons on monitor 2 goes back to the dead screen.
I have concluded that back lighting is not working, I am however convince completely so I am prepared for surprise.
I will work through this topic from the beginning. Suggestion though welcome.
I have the service manual as well, so off to good start and have the unit dismantled.

by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...-

by x_orange90_xI just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.
I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it... -
by GentianI have a tripp-lite aspint 3636vr inverter charger which blow some of mosfet transistors. I replaced them repaired also the driver circuit and tested but the mosfets burn again.
It work very well as inverter and also as charger if I let the rear switch in auto mode (inverter) and charger only(charging) but in auto when I connect the feed line 220V AC first time it pass ok to line and start charging the batteries but when I remove the feed line it pass to inverter mode and if I do it again the second time when passing from charging to inverter the Main transformer start making a...03-06-2023, 07:07 AM -
by valvashonFor some reason I'm just not going to let this 19" TV defeat me. I guess because I have a schematic to work from I feel like I'm oh so close.
History- while adding a turn-on circuit I let a small screw roll under the power board. Worked through all of that circuitry, probably replacing a MOSFET and PWM controller that were not bad but I was following the service manual. Finally figured out that the power supply is in working order when the inverter section (for the backlights) is disconnected. When the +12 supply to the inverter is disconnected the +12 and +5 will come up...1 Photo -
by signal.questHi all,
I have been working on a Samsung LN40C630K1F LCD TV. On power up the backlights only briefly light up when first powered on then they go out (2 seconds to black). The flashlight test also fails. The sound works fine. Please see attached pics.
I have researched the forums a lot. I have watched the videos of trying to locate the bad CCFL or transformer and bypassing. I can't find any evidence of a bad transformer/CCFL. I verified I get 376V from the big caps to the fuse. I have used a small/cheap oscilloscope and it looks like the MOSFETs on the inverter...6 Photos - Loading...
