    When do LCD's usually go?

I've got a 19 wide LG LCD. New(ish), December 2007 build. Chi-Mei panel, Lien-Chang PSU/Inverter combo. It has around 1300 hours on it. It had at least 450 hours, but then I accidentally cleared the timer. It has 797 hours on it right now, plus however many it had before I cleared it.

I have reason to believe it has Samxon GF caps in it. Not 100% sure because I haven't opened it up to check yet. Do you guys think it'll go any time soon? 1200 hours isn't much, methinks. I saw a store model, before this monitor was discontinued, with 4,700 hours on it. Would a preemptive recap with Panny FM's be necessary so soon? Would a monitor with crapcaps make it to nearly 5k hours? I'm kinda hoping that even though it probably has GF's in it, I won't need to open it up for a recap.

Also, a shot of the inverter/PSU. From the FCC page, that's how I know what's in it even though I haven't opened mine yet.

While we're at it, is the PSU/inverter any good quality-wise?

Disregard the one I saw with 5k hours and recap it is then.

Can anyone on this board sell me Panny's? Or will I have to get those from Digikey?

People on the board might have a few of this or that size but probably not every size.
Without knowing the sizes you need no one can answer the question.
Panny FM are a good choice though.

Well I meant if anyone on here supplied Panasonic caps, like how Big Pope supplies Samxons.

I'll crack it open next time I get a chance (mother would freak if she saw me opening a less than 1-year-old LCD).

Personally, I'd leave it alone until the warranty expires.

LG 49UK7550PTA - after couple of hours screen starts to blink
                by JohnML1975
                Hello Forum team

Have this TV; searched for the model and could not anything so thought I would share in here

Had an issue, some years ago, and looks like some placed sticky tape over some of the lines on the FFC cables between the T con and the mainboard
Anyway, the owner, who gave me the TV, says it starts to blink after a few hours

So I removed the covers, and could not see anything visibly
Removed the power supply and thought some of the solder joints, on the hot side, were not the best. I thought some looked like they were cracked.

14" MacBook LCDs - has Apple re-introduced a new serialisation type?
                by ronaldopdias
                Hi all,

Since about a month or two ago, we've observed a new type of 'serialisation' on the LCDs and we're just curious whether anyone has seen this
                • New LCDs straight from the factory (not programmed)- if the Mac is restarted or switched on from a cold boot, you must close the lid, then open it again (so two cycles of opening and closing the screen) in order to get display.
                • Transplant the IC onto another screen:
                  • If the model and revision match exactly then it will perform as normal
                  • If the manufacturer matches exactly BUT its a different revision, the colours are mostly in

blue LEDs @ ~10k hours on LG 49UJ6500-UB and 75UM8070PUA
                by howardc64
Recently fixed a couple of LGs with blue backlight (yellow phosphor worn) by replacing LED backlight

2017 49UJ6500 with 10.5k hours (all LEDs turned blue)
2019 75UM8070PUA with 12k hours (>75% of LEDs turned blue)

So the 2019 was averaging 8hr/+day and 2017 probably 5hr+/day

Just some stats for future repairs.
