    VeiwSonic VA912b

Flashing green light. No picture. All the caps were CapXon.
The three bulging caps were 470uf 25v reading between 3 and 7 ohms esr. The big 100uf 400v cap had a slight bulge but was open.

    Cap list
    KF series: mfr spec qty
    470uf 25v 10mm x 16mm ripple=1200 imp= .076 5
    470uf 10v 8mm x 12mm ripple=580 imp= .25 1

    KM series:
    100uf 400v 18mm x 35.5mm ripple=550

I replaced the KF series with Nichicon PW, same sizes and spec.
The KM series I used a Nichicon PB that was 18mm x 40mm.

There was a small cap that looked like a 22uf 25v that was covered in glue that I left in.

Wow thats a beefy HV transformer.

Does it have both inverter circuits in one package?
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

      Good observation.
It seems the better or more efficiant the transformer the smaller the mosfets are.
The last two inverter modules I bought yesterday have no discrete components and drive six lamps.

These fail also, I have a collection of dead ones.

Hello ... I'm new to caps...
        Well I started wiring a junk va912b ....
It does not look like the one above..
with a power supply from a NEC LCD19WV power supply...
YA it's a good one... I Found the problem with that one too late... ripped wire ... I'll make it fit..
All I need to finish is the pin outs for CN1 Plug to power the main dvi/vga board.
        on the Viewsonic VA912b.

I'm also gonna wire the board to the pc power supply.

Vintage AT Power Supplies - Selecting Capacitors
          by iMic
          Hi,

Back after a long hiatus with some old power supplies that need repairing. I've recently picked up a couple of 386SX systems, two 486DX systems, a SiliconGraphics Indy and an iMac G3 that either have verified leaking capacitors in their power supplies, or are likely to in the near future. For the sake of simplicity, instead of tackling all at once, I'm starting with the 386's and one of the 486's.

The 386's power supplies are Seasonic SS4040A's, with caps that are visibly leaking, and 9 replacement caps per unit are required. Most appear to be from the Rubycon...

How Can I test PWM DM0365R?
          by chth96
          Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

          DFI Lanparty NF3 250GB recapping
          by laskr1999
          Hello!
I have got a DFI Lanparty NF3 250GB motherboard, that have all of the capacitors failed, board still working.
I have read, that I need to match ESR, Capacitance, Voltage to have a quality recap, but with ESR im in a problem. 0.012 ohm is what i see on the vrm caps specs, but lowest I could find is 0.018 and up, usually 0.04. Can someone help me find good replacements?
I'm located in EU, and I have found a guy here on the forums who listed the caps, so here are they:
          - 20 x Nichicon 1000uF 6.3v HM 105C
          - 5 x Chemi-con KZG 1000uF 10V
          - 1 x Chemi-con KZG...
