Benq et-0004-L problems with one side of the inverter

Problem with inverter section. It powers and displays the image just a couple of seconds then it gets off.

Only the inferior lamp is working.
The image can be seen with an external light.

When is on is doing a noise and smells bad, I notice a hole in the cable of a ccfl lamp and the noise seems to be originated from that hole which is barely touching the metal case an can be sen plasma between the cable and the metal.

I try with other ccfl lamp but it not power.

first thing, it looks like the board is cracked near the invertor transformer.
so you need to check the tracks under that crack.
and obviously you need to insulate that burned wire - preferably cut out the burned section too.

I guess that is the reflection of the flash light and I already isolate the wire with termofilm.

I wanted to add that all leads in the 8pin chip that is nearest in the picture has -35v

BenQ TH681 Originally overheating now wont fire the lamp - Colour wheel not starting
          by AJ847.63e
          Hi All.

Does anyone have any reference materials or something I can use to try troubleshooting a BenQ TH681? Google unfortunately has turned up zip. I did find a service manual for a W series BenQ but that is pretty much useless, it's more a glorified user manual. A list of voltages would be great as I suspect my mainboard is faulty, the colour wheel voltage is not dipping like it should.

The one I am troubleshooting now was originally overheating after a lamp replacement. It originally would take 2 minutes or so for it to shut off and blink the temp and lamp lights...

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
          by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
          by ttmi100x
          Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

          Upon closer inspection...

          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
          by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...
