    HP L2065 Montior problem

This monitor originally had an issue where the screen would turn on and then off again only in windows. On bios screens or anything else before windows it doesn't show the issue. I took it apart and about 6 caps were obviously popped. I replaced them with name brand caps and the issue seems a little better (doesn't turn on and off as fast but still does it). I would love some help troubleshooting more to see if I can fix it, I don't think it's time to call it quits just yet. Here are some high quality pics of the board with the caps replaced. The circled caps are the ones I replaced, if anyone needs more info I will gladly provide.

Update: I thought the issue went away but I have narrowed it down a bit further. When the screen is displaying darker colors its fine but when there are bunch of lighter colors the screen turns off then back on and back off etc. I noticed a artifact just before this happens as a red line that appears on the bottom half of the screen but and goes from the edge to about 1/4 over not completely over. I feel its probably something with the controller board not the power board now. I hope this extra info helps in some way to narrow it down.

If you don't have an ESR to test the capacitors, change the rest of the caps especially near the large main caps one of them could be a start up cap.

+1, there are two small electrolytics caps by the power transformer.

Are you talking about the two really big 450v caps ? or something else?

So are the output Voltages to the main/logic board staying steady when it does not work and the backlights stay on?

I checked power while the monitor is doing its power off and on cycle and all the voltages read correctly and don't fluctuate according to this pic from the back of the controller board. I don't know what the inverter should read at but it does change when the screen goes on and off.

Edit: On a solid black background where the monitor stays on and doesn't turn on and off the inverter is reading 4.73

The INV pin (same as BL-ON signal) is the command signal for turning on the backlighs circuit on the power supply-inverter combo board. <1V = Backlights OFF, >2V (or 2.5V) = backlighs on.
The pictures problem sounds like either the main/logic board (bad caps) or the panel.
Can we see the screen shot of the image?
You can also try heating the main board with hair dryer to see if heat has any effect on the problem.

oh, so basically if the screen is dark it displays just fine (think solid black wallpaper). If a lighter windows is brought up to the foreground the monitor turns off then back on and then off again repeatedly. There is nothing abnormal on the screen when just on the dark wallpaper.

                                  Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

                                  🛠 Original Issue
                                  The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

i ordered a lot of caps from digikey to repair my xboxs. one thing i ordered was 50NXA10MEFC5X11-ND caps and i think they are not polarized. will this cause any kind of a problem? i really don't want to order new caps just because of this.

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                                  Hello guys!
I have a strange issue with my laptop keyboard and I'm lost trying to detect what's wrong - the KB9028Q-C or the keyboard itself.
It powers on OK and has no other issues except the following:
                                  • CAPS LOCK does not work at all
                                  • Fn button toggles Flight Mode
                                  • When I press 't' or '5', it produces 't5', and when I press 'y' or '6', it produces 'y6'
                                  • (with SHIFT pressed: 't%' and 'y^' respectively)
I initially thought it was a keyboard malfunction (internal short, etc.),
but when I press and hold...

Hi guys, I have an HP model 15s-eq1040nl main DAOP5FMB6A0 REV:A with a caps/lock 5 long 3 short led flashing problem, I tried to remove the battery and program a new bios and when I restarted it immediately worked correctly, the pc turned on and loaded the operating system.
As soon as I turned off the pc and connected the battery, the problem reappeared... caps/lock 5 long 3 short led flashing again!
the battery was dead, i charged it and it works fine, but the pc won't turn on again.
What do you recommend me? Do I have to redo the bios or is there anything else to check?...
