Re: Hisense 50k23dg backlight problem
Well boys I got the lights in today and they work find but I somehow cracked the LCD when putting it back on RIP me. On the somewhat bright side only one other strip was bad and 2 other strips only had 1 LED out a piece, so 7 good working ones.

Re: Hisense 50k23dg backlight problem
Any leads on getting a new harness I can't find one anywhere. I managed to find the strips and most everything else on the TV but not that wiring harness. I really need one of those little connectors as the old one melted and im not quite sure how I'm gonna solder bare wire onto those small wires.

Re: Hisense 50k23dg backlight problem
Is there a way to test one strip at a time? I'm waiting on new LED strips should be here in like 4-5 days. Trying to do as much troubleshooting as I can before they get here.

Re: Hisense 50k23dg backlight problem
My quick edit was mistaken I get 230v - 240v with the LED cable connected or not. I just bridged the red wire together and I still get the same blink code of 8 blinks.
I searched the forum and there seems to be one other similar thread with some measurements but there is no follow up to what the measurements should be etc.

Hisense 50k23dg backlight problem
TV symptom was no backlight, everything else worked great. Seemingly the backlights are a common failure on these I decided to open it up and give it a shot on replacing the LED strips. I open it up and look at the horror of what I found underneath (See attached pics).
I wanted to test if any of the other strips were defective, what is the best way to do this ?
After some soldering I replaced the burnt part of the white wire and added some length to the red wire so I could bridge them together, is this the proper way to test the other strips? I tried it but I got nothing...Last edited by mourningstar625; 01-05-2018, 11:56 PM.

Re: HP L2065 Montior problem
oh, so basically if the screen is dark it displays just fine (think solid black wallpaper). If a lighter windows is brought up to the foreground the monitor turns off then back on and then off again repeatedly. There is nothing abnormal on the screen when just on the dark wallpaper.

Re: HP L2065 Montior problem
I checked power while the monitor is doing its power off and on cycle and all the voltages read correctly and don't fluctuate according to this pic from the back of the controller board. I don't know what the inverter should read at but it does change when the screen goes on and off.
Edit: On a solid black background where the monitor stays on and doesn't turn on and off the inverter is reading 4.73...Last edited by mourningstar625; 04-30-2016, 06:23 PM.

HP L2065 Montior problem
This monitor originally had an issue where the screen would turn on and then off again only in windows. On bios screens or anything else before windows it doesn't show the issue. I took it apart and about 6 caps were obviously popped. I replaced them with name brand caps and the issue seems a little better (doesn't turn on and off as fast but still does it). I would love some help troubleshooting more to see if I can fix it, I don't think it's time to call it quits just yet. Here are some high quality pics of the board with the caps replaced. The circled caps are the ones I replaced, if anyone...Last edited by mourningstar625; 04-29-2016, 05:28 AM.

Samsung ln32b360c5d blinking red light
So I picked up this TV today thinking it would be a simple cap issue, but to my surprise when I opened it up all the caps looked fine. I busted out the multimeter and checked some of the pins at the top of the board for voltage and some of them read correctly but the bottom 3 (pins 13, 14 and 15) which should read 5.3v are reading nothing. Can you help me figure this out?
Also when unplugged from the main board the backlight comes on. When everything is normally plugged in the red light in front blinks and nothing else happens.
Here are super high res pics to help you...
