Anyone know if the ribbon cables are standard across laptops cases like in a PC, or are they proprietary to each manufacturer? I damaged the one that runs between the MB and the power / HDD / Battery Status Indicator LED Circuit Board. The Dell SKU/DPN: ADM70LED. I just need help finding a replacement. Could I possibly use a similar cable from a donor laptop?

I have a Quantum SuperLoader robotic tape library that uses an IBM LTO 7 tape drive which is constantly complaining that it needs cleaning. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by ntecI am trying to fix a tablet that someone botched the ffc/fpc connector on as circled in the picture. When buying a replacement connector I see the connectors are categorized by number of pins and pitch but how do I determine what mine is to find an exact replacement. Not sure if it means anything, but beside the connector it has written a number 1 on one side and 51 on the other side which is also written on the ribbon flex...
