Re: Help - how to test an inverter transformer
How about the pictures of the top side of the board? and also the whole board both sides.
What is the make and model of this product you are working on? The more information we get the more we can help.
It looks to be correct as you have marked for the High Voltage secondary winding.Comment

And your reply is "I am currently reading the ebook of Jestine Yong - LCD Monitor Repair and that is from where I have brought that screenshot. I am trying to learn more about electronics and lcd repairs."Last edited by budm; 10-06-2015, 08:51 AM.Never stop learning

Re: Help - how to test an inverter transformer
But we do not know what the CURRENT TRANSFORMER YOU HAVE, so far you show us the pictures of the transformer from EBAY and from Yong and no pictures of your transformer or the make and the model of what you are working on, how can we when you are not provide good clear information that I already asked for (post 20)?

Re: Help - how to test an inverter transformer
You replace with a transformer of the same part number and/or specification just like any component. It depends on the one used and they are not all the same, therefor not interchangeable.Last edited by SteveNielsen; 10-06-2015, 09:31 AM.Comment

It is very complicate. You just do not put one transformer in place of the other unless you know what the exact requirement of the circuits, the transformer, the loads. etc.Never stop learning

by caseyjay_48I am currently on a troubleshoot of 46” Sony KDL-46BX450 tv. I came back from Washington to Texas on medical emergency and had to leave all my tools up there. All I have is a couple of screwdrivers and a dvm. I wish to ask the community a troubleshooting question. Please forgive stupid questions as meds I am taking produce brain fog.
I have well maintained Sony KDL-46BX450. It went black one day. After turn-on, I get solid green light and Sony logo in screen center for about 1-2 seconds, then black. No blinking LEDs, no hissing. Flashlight test shows screen characters dimly viewable,... -

by chth96Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor.... -
by signal.questHi all,
I have been working on a Samsung LN40C630K1F LCD TV. On power up the backlights only briefly light up when first powered on then they go out (2 seconds to black). The flashlight test also fails. The sound works fine. Please see attached pics.
I have researched the forums a lot. I have watched the videos of trying to locate the bad CCFL or transformer and bypassing. I can't find any evidence of a bad transformer/CCFL. I verified I get 376V from the big caps to the fuse. I have used a small/cheap oscilloscope and it looks like the MOSFETs on the inverter...6 Photos -
by amelbyeHi, some prestory: I was repairing an amplifier - a "Phil Jones Bass". It had some bad capacitors an a faulty power switch. Easy job. However upon putting it back together I screwed up. The connector from the 15V-0V-15V from the transformer is identical to the audio ouput from the preamp board to the poweramp board. I ended up putting +-15VAC into the preamp outputs frying some traces on the circuit board along with the power transformer
The transformer is shorted. It blows the fuse immediately even with no load on the secondary.
Now that's a challenge - luckily... - Loading...
