Like I said, I have a Spectre X-9 Monitor with an intermittent WHITE SCREEN. It would play ok for awhile, then go to white screen but would still have sound. I think I've found the problem but now need to find out what to do to fix it.
After tearing it apart, and letting it play, (out of it's plastic cabinet) when it would go white, I would push and pull on the components and finally I found that the cable running from the power board to the main board, had a loose connection at the plastic connector. When I pull the wire, the picture flickers or goes white, them do it again, and it comes back perfectly.
Now my question, when I pull on the wire where it enters the plastic connecter, I can feel and see it move through a hole further down the side of the connector. Does it need tightened up where the wire connects to the female end of the connector, and if so, how?
Do you think this is just a "dirty connector" and should I spray a little "electrical Cleaner" in the end of the plastic connector? Thank You!
