    Can I replace 30v 180uf cap with 35v 180uf? MPC clientpro 414 17" lcd inverter board?

this is my first post so I apologize if I make any mistakes.
three images below show inverter board, top, middle and bottom.
I have 40 of these all in one 17" LCD computers and they all show the start up screen for a split second and then show white text for a split second before going completely black. Although the PC's are very old about 10 years I'd rather fix them then throw them in the landfill.

the middle photo shows two green and gold capacitors, which are labeled:
    NK CON 30v 180uf 105 c f2053 EVL

I want to replace them since they are reading 40uf and 90uf with multimeter.
I have already swapped out a good inverter board with a bad one (on two pc's) and got a PC working again so I know it is something bad on the board.

I cannot find any 30v capacitors on mouser.
can I use this 35V one instead? I know I can use a higher capacitance rating, but i'm not sure about voltage?

Yes you can, but it has to be LOW ESR/IMPEDANCE type. I use Panasonic FM/FC/FR series for all my repairs.
You should recap the whole board except the main filter cap.

      thanks for the quick reply

the product spread sheet says 56 mOhms is that low enough?

I only see two capacitors on the board, though I admit I am an electronics novice and do not know what everything is just by looking at it.

What product spec sheet, the spec sheet of the original?
If you get the FM series it will be good for sure, FR will be even better doe to longer Hrs.

MOUSER says it is FR series FR1V181
I am talking about the product spread sheet on mouser's web site
I posted the link above in first post.

I am so happy I was able to figure this out by reading this forum and getting help from people like you, thanks!

Yes it will be ok to use that capacitor. Going up on the voltage rating by 5v isn't going to make any difference. What Bud said, if you're going to buy and replace one cap you should do all of them.

Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.

Looking for help with a Viewsonic VP230mb where the backlight comes on only momentarily

Hello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.

First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

              Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
