    Dell 2410b Monitor help

    Hi

I'm having trouble with my monitor, when I start it up the backlight is lit up for under half a second and then it turns off. I can still see the screen if I shine a flashlight on it. I will attach images of the logic board and power board, incase you see something I don't.

I have tried to check the transistors for shorts, they all seem fine. I don't have the equipment to check the Capacitors right now.

And by the way, the whole screen lights up in the half a second period, so I don't think there is a problem with the bulbs, might be the inverter board. I'll attach pictures of all 3.

May be half a second until one bulb gives up? If the leads are long enough
try swapping them over where the plug into the power supply.

Dell did have problems with the quality of their soldering, unfortunately I cant really tell on your picture. I would resolder ALL the joints on the high voltage inverter section of the power supply board from the transsformer up the and incluing the lamp sockets. Unless you have any spare lamps then
think about making a test bulb.

After half a second, both bulbs gives up.

And after testing some of the pins on the Q801 and Q802 ICs, I noticed some of the are shorted, I don't know if it's supposed to be so, because I can't find the part number on them, it's either faded over time or scratched of.

I think he means that, if one CCFL is faulty then the inverter will shut both lamps off.
