So, I have had this monitor awhile now. It had started to have some issues with turning on/off randomly. But then just stopped and worked fine. I had to move and put it away in storage (it had sat about 6 months) and had not used it for a bit. I took it out yesterday and plugged it in to my desktop and it turned on right away, but then only goes to the red/blue/green/black/white color test screen and does not show video other than that. It clearly recognizes that there is something plugged into it since upon removing the hdmi or vga cable, it goes to the sleep state with the amber led. Is this a normal thing to happen? Is it fixable or should I just scrap it and try to find something else?

Re: Hanns-G HG281d
Buy the correct low ESR type caps and may be taking it to local TV shop to have them remove the old one and install the new one for you. Verify the work and make sure the caps are put in with correct polarity, and good solder works.Never stop learning
