    here is something i discover

while checking this viewsonic 2030 monitor,i noticed something that probably most of you experienced guys know.
when i turned the monitor on ,i forgot to connect the ribbon cable that goes from the logic card to the screen assy, and i got a beautiful ,bright ,well defined backlight, even on a well lighted area.
this makes me think that if you have a good power board and good lamps ,this "test" will show that.
i had a known good signal from the cpu ,and when i disconnected the cpu ,the backlight went away which i think its normal.
this is something i learned and wanted to share with everybody .
its a monitor that only goes to 1024x768 resolution, any higher than that it turns off ,with a blue on light.
    thank you

Yes, like this one: no b+ to the T-CON will give the same symptom.

The LCD panel with high contrast will barely glow.
It is also shown in my Basic LCD monitor troubleshooting:

You are learning well, so keep reading and working at it and you will get better and better when you see the symptoms in the future.
