i picked up this portable oscope at a fles market long, long ago.(model type 323)
the question is the scope only goes up to 5microsec on the time knob.
to find the bandwith is it 1/max freq,in this case 1/5 micros?
and,is this good enough for monitor work?...
i forgot where i got mine ,but its missing some info that this one has,i think i got it from viewsonic ,but they must to have sent me a different revision or something.
oh man!!!
you mean 802.11b its an older technology?
and i thought i had the top of the line with my 5 dbi alfa usb adapter.(what can you expect from a 64 yr old man?)
it works ok for me ,but what do you recommend i upgrade to?
will it be faster, stronger?or what its different with the newer technology?
i am going home to mcallen texas and i probably can get a better equipment.

hey bud,
take a look at the service manual t30m31 sent me .
i think it has some more info then the one we got before, you tell me,but all info its welcome.
who knows you may have a use for it someday.
i guess viewsonic has a few different mods on the 2030 model,i dont know.
thank you bud, good info ,i finally know what LDO means.
low drop output right? please correct me if i am wrong ,it says low dropout on the data sheets,so i ASSume they just kind of simplify it .
another dumb question:am i suppost to delete the posts of the items i fixed and if yes how do i do it?
thank you t30m31,
not wonder i couldnt find it !!
that 7c9l17 number its what's printed on the component.
and its totally different from ap1117cy.
is this what a lot of you guys call the 1117 series?
i am going to go over the squematic and try to find what and how was this ckt affected by the caps.
thanks for your help and effort, its well appreciated.
yes ,i believe so.
i was going to replace that component ,but i couldnt find it anywhere here in mexico under those numbers,so i replaced all the caps and it worked.
thank you any way,and i will keep that squematic so i can use it in the future if i need it.
thank you bud,
i will try that next time.
i am going to call this monitor FIXED.
IT WAS ON ALL NIGHT ,AND IT WAS STILL GOING STRONG AS OF 10:40 AM TODAY.
after reading on the different posts ,threads from you and other valuable info from the rest of the guys that pitched in,i used the shotgun approach and replaced all the small 10mf/16v caps, one 47mf/16v cap(which i think it was the culper) on the logic/main board.
they were showing some ac voltages like 1.6 ac v on the 3.3 test point ,and .139 acv...
hello guys,
i dont want to cry victory yet but,
i changed all the small caps 10 mf,16 v caps on the main board and the monitor has been working for the last 2 hrs in a row,on the highest definition.
i will leave it on all night and see what happens.
i will like to get everybody's opinion on what caps are the best(in your opinion)
being new to this world of monitor repair i dont really know what make to use and where to buy them.
all opinions are appreciated and considered good.
my goal its to use a component of best quality so i can get a long lasting repair.
thank you everybody.
its on the main/logic board( thats what i call it)its probably a different name.
but here are some pictures of it ,bud suggested a 1.8 v regulator.
i do appreciate both of your's efforts....
what is this component? i searched the web and can not find its description.
its on the logic/main board for a viewsonic 2030wm monitor that goes off at high resolution.
please help
