    HP W1707 with screen problem

    Hello to everybody

I got this old LCD monitor HP model W1707 , with the following problem on the screen as you can see it on the uploaded pics . The problem is only with the screen image . There is no other problem , like shutdown or otherelse .

I opened the monitor , and tried this :

1 - Checked the capacitors and aparently there's no problem with the capacitors on the power board and the logical display board .

2 - Checked and cleaned with rubber the connections of the flat cable both sides .

    What I intend to do is to replace all little capacitors of the logical display board : 2 cap ( 10uf , 50v ) and 4 cap ( 100uf , 16v ) .

Any other thing what I could do ?

Thanks in advance for any kind of tip or hint .

As you have cleaned the flat ribbon cable it looks like a panel fault.
Check the output and cable from the pc .
post pictures of the main /logic board and the panel board on the screen if you can get to it.

I could only taked pics of the logical display board and the power board .
I've tested this monitor in another PC and the problem was the same and tested with another vga cable .

JH caps have a po0r reputation on here so yes you should change them.
        Best quality you can get.
Next thing to test would be the voltages on the voltage regulators. I can see
2 , well one on the right hand side with the backward c11 8By? and the other is behind one of the caps - I can just see its 3 "feet"

Hi you are correct it is a poor picture.

Here is a better one - perhaps while waiting for the caps you can test
the voltage regulators (if you have not already removed the caps )

Meter on vDC20 black probe on ground probe each pin with the red probe
            and post the results.

Also No power to the board - meter on ohms 200 can you test the 0 rated
            resistor marked in red.
