    Samsung 2232BW - Power light

    Just a quick question.

The monitors power light comes on as soon as it is plugged in, but nothing happens if you press it.

I've seen before monitors with bad caps / transformers that when you press the power button, at least the LED turns on and off.

Would this indicate something else is wrong with this monitor?

    Hi,
There can be a number of faults here, but from the little infos you gave, if the On LED comes straight up when you plug the cord, could indicate a corrupt eeprom software (being a Samsung monitor). However nothing is for sure until you start measuring all the voltages from PS and from the voltage regulators from the main board!

      Ah I see.

Who ever had the monitor before me had removed the caps, (I presume to test them), and looks like they couldn't find the problem. There are 2 inverters so I guess they are both fine.

I tried to look for a picture on the screen with a light, but couldn't see anything.

I did suspect the logic board being the problem. I will look though my other monitors to see if I can find a compatible one.

Also is there a guide to which voltages to check?

Checked the 13.5V and it is 14v. I assume this is normal. Is there a way to force the power board to turn on the inverters so I can see if the board is working normally? There is a "ON" pin on the logic connector.

I checked some of the voltages on the logic board, 13.5v is at 13.9v, but the 2x 5v pins on the logic board aren't getting anything.

Update: Bridged a 3.3v from the logic board to the ON pin, and the backlight turns on. You were right addytzu123! Logic board it is!

First of all see attached link for service manual, see what voltages you should get at the input connector from the PS, and provide clear pictures of your boards, so other users can help you with more targeted advices.

Wait a minute, then press "Get manual" link

I will get some pictures shortly.

The voltages suggest the PSU is working fine. The logic board, not so much.

Funny enough, just received another exact same monitor in the post. I think this one has a bad PSU, so should be able to get 1 out of the two!

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                  by PantherDave
                  Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

hello, i have been sitting on some microsoft surface pro 4 tablets for a while now. i was originally tasked with replacing the battery in one of the tablets, and ended breaking the screen and logic board in the process. decided to buy another tablet with the same specs. got that screen off successfully of the second tablet. the logic board appeared good, but i guess i shorted something out in the installation process of the logic which i've read is a common issue if there is no barrier between the logic board and battery pins. all that said, i ate costs of the repair and have...

LG 39ln540v - red light flashes twice, no power to LED driver?
                  by russpall
                  Hi there,

I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.

The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:
                  ...

                  Samsung UE75MU7009TXZG Endless Power Cycle

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...

Saved this TV from the trash but it will not power on the red power indicator light blinks 6 times with no display. I've attached pics of the power board(1st pic) and mainboard(2nd pic). I don't see any blown caps on pb like I expected so what do y'all think is the issue?...
