Hello,
I bought a Planar PX2611W in 2009, and have used it since that time.
Recently, I started noticing a strange artifacting problem, where it seemed like the blue in the monitor developed a little bit of static, which would gradually get worse until either the monitor went black for a second and reset, or I reset the resolution.
A few days ago, the monitor went black suddenly, and the power and menu buttons became unresponsive. I found that the only way to bring the image back was to hard reset the power. This brings back a perfect image, however it only lasts a few minutes until going black again. This is very annoying as it does not come back instantly, and is happening very often now.
Before I put it on a separate switch to make it easier to reset, I was resetting the plug directly on the bottom of the monitor, and it generated an all-blue and and all-green screen a couple of times.
What is broken here? I can disassemble and repair the necessary components, but I have no idea what makes this type of issue happen.
Is this characteristic of a specific component failure? Or, what is the simplest way to fix the issue?
