My Samsung monitor died the other day, made a kind of cracking noise then shut off in the middle of a game. The power LED doesn't light up at all, and the screen doesn't come on at all either. Tried all the basic stuff, different cord outlets all that. I saw some youtube videos and replaced some of the capacitors that looked like they were bulging a little. Still nothing though, so thought i would come here and see if anyone had any ideas. I can post pictures just let me know what parts you need pictures of. Thanks a ton

Re: Samsung syncmaster 245BW no power at all
The crack sound means something went pop for sure. Look at the transistors on the heatsinks for signs of failure - cracks in the plastic, a white spot, or burn/soot marks. Also check resistors. Take a look at any ICs on the bottom of the board, and see if they are burnt/cracked. Hope this helps!Muh-soggy-kneeComment

Re: Samsung syncmaster 245BW no power at all
i have visually inspected the boards really thoroughly but haven't been able to find anything unusual. I ordered all new resistors and some new fuses. I also attached some pictures.Comment

Re: Samsung syncmaster 245BW no power at all
Alright i will try getting all the glue stuff off, and pick up a multimeter to test the big cap and some of the resistors.Comment

Re: Samsung syncmaster 245BW no power at all
Google using the board code, BN44-00173A. You will find lots of help. Typical failure is that one of the three 68 ohm resistors is burned. Usually replacing all three resistors and some capacitors will do. Check also the other similar type resistors, I remember once replacing also 100k or 150k resistor (don't remember) too. There is a nice video on youtube about how to fix (I have some comments there also).

Re: Samsung syncmaster 245BW no power at all
I got a little cheap (non digital) multimeter from a friend. Tested all the capacitors with the resistance setting. They all show open except 2 of them, they show that they have quite a bit of resistance. Could this be whats causing the problem?Comment

Re: Samsung syncmaster 245BW no power at all
The fuses dont look like they blew but when i use the multimeter it says there's no current going through them. Which i did order new fuses (hopefully the right ones).
This is the link to the fuses i ordered..

What resistance do you get when you measure the fuses using the lowest Ohm mode setting on your meter? No power applied to the board while testing the resistance.Never stop learning

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here
My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.
Since a few days, the TV won't turn... -
by Journey11Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again.... -
by nh2This is my first post here. I just fixed my first 2 broken displays by replacing broken capacitors (Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, and Samsung SyncMaster 213T). But I have a third one I'm unable to fix, and am eager to fix as well:
My Samsung SyncMaster 215TW makes a buzzing / hissing sound when turned on.
The sound is louder the brighter the monitor is, e.g. in the "Game" preset is is even louder than in a softer preset.
Opening up the monitor and unplugging the small socket cables that run from the power board to the LCD, I can see a small blue...-
