2005 fpw still dead after cap change

Any ideas? It blinks initially but stays black.
    Replaced all the caps.
There is a transformer in the high voltage section that is suspect. However, the number PT20106 has got me stumped. Can't find that on the net.
    Any suggestions?

not sure about the make of the replacements. I think the logic board replacements I bought were panasonic.
The others are gold on black. I think they are good caps.

Suggest you post some good focused overhead photos of the power board top and bottom as there were different versions used on your model monitor. Use "manage attachments" to post them.

I can post pics, but I am not sure what you expect to see.
I only have a top view of the board right now - I put the monitor back together and discovered the caps didn't fix the problem and I didn't take it apart again.

There is a PT20106 that looks like it may have overheated. I can't really tell if the varnish they used for the windings melted or it was manufactured like that (the process isn't exact for transformers so there may be slight excess during mfg).
Second, it looks like one of the small transformers might have heated up too, but again - I can't tell. What I see is inconclusive - I have seen many burned parts in my day (I am an electrical engineer) and I don't see a clear 'smoking gun'. The only thing I can do at this point is start probing, but I don't have a schematic and I don't want to get whacked with 750V.

There were no bulging caps when I replaced them (top or bottom). Doesn't mean a cap was not bad, but the bad cap thing was pretty darn clear on the cheapo Princeton monitor I fixed.

Not sure what to do at this point. Got some time and a few bucks invested, but I probably should cut my losses.
            Thoughts?

              What blinks? The backlights?
Could be a bad lamp, or a bad inverter transformer. Post the pic you have and we'll have a look

Does look like a scorch mark under the first transformer. You can test each inverter transformer as outlined here:

Re: 2005 fpw still dead after cap change

Well - it looked like discoloration of the glue attaching the clear insulator to the bottom of the pcb. The transformer top side looks good.
The bigger transformer was what I was concerned with. The monitor never lights up.
Guess I will have to test it per the link you sent, thanks.

                        Power OFF Meter on ohms 1000 or 2000 test S1 to S2 S3 to S4 S5 to S6
and so on up to S11 to S12 and post results

                          Hello,

I already flashed main bios 16mb from official site without success, my laptops has every normal voltaje that i can measure and i think the 8mb bios is corrupted.

                          C1_MB PVT V3.0 20180315 GTX 1070

I look for a dump or if anyone can look for my backups (16mb and 8mb)

                          thanks

                          Hi all,

at firs, i hope this is the right place to post my question.

Im looking for a tool to change the bios logo.

everyone knows when you turn on your laptop/pc you will see the manufacturer logo like lenovo, hp, dell...

i know that HP has a build in option to change the splash logo.

but i want to change the manufacturer logo to an own logo.

I try'd Change Logo 5.0, but when i make a backup of an laptop and edit the logo and flash the editted version back on the laptop the logo diddnt change.

                          Finding a dead short component

                          Hi guys!
I searched for the term "dead short" in the forum but no specific thread came up however if I'm just blind and couldn't see the thread talking about this please forward me to that direction.
So my problem is I don't know how to find the source of a dead shorted voltage rail. Dead short = ~0 ohm resistance.
I have two VGAs (HD 4850 and HD 4870), both dead shorted to ground on the memory rail. I have the boardview file for the 4870 and the memory rail consists around ~7892346 capacitors...
I have a bench PSU and if I try to inject voltage the voltage...

Hello everyone hope all doing well!
I have this PSU (GPS450-AA delta oem) around for like 4-5 years and I had it recapped early 2020 or 2021 with mostly UCC KY and Nichicon PW's. The bulk was and still is fine, the original Ltec's were bloated and empty. The previous issue was some major coil whine noise and at times random shutdowns when going idle. Today it started tripping the mains breaker and I think I have dead APFC mosfets (20N60C3). Right now upon checking I have the Q1 and Q3 FETs dead so far and I guess those are responsible for the PFC circuit. The only thing I care is If there...
