Dell 2407WFPb backlight work, LCD doesn't

Hello and firstly thanks for everyone who has helped me in the past to fix my Chimei 221D, it's still going strong till this day .

Today my problem is with my Dell 2407WFPb, initially it was working with just a minor problem with a 1 pixel vertical line stuck on the far left, it didn't bother me much at first, but after a few months it did. So I did something stupid and opened it up and while powered on tried to see if the tab bond was the problem, it didn't seem like a tab bond problem as I tried to press it down so I decided to put it back together and let it be. The problem occured when the LCD slipped out of my hands while powered and I heard a small zap sound. Ever since that happened the actual LCD would not display, the backlight works and the Monitor turns on. Is it possible that I blew a tiny fuse? I have attached some photos of the circuit boards that may have the issue, I will take some more photos of the other circuit boards if needed.

    Cheers,

Check this fuse and see if it's blown.

Hmm, I just checked the fuse. It shows roughly 79 ohms on my multimeter. Thanks for helping by the way.

Suggests it is blown - what does your meter say when you touch the
probes together. Remove the fuse or lift one end and retest.

When i touch the probes together my meter reads 1 ohm, I desoldered the fuse and it's the same 79 ohms.

edit: I tried a temp fuse and it worked. Though the picture is having more issues than before, there is a large horiztonal band across the middle, it splits the picture like it draws what is meant to be the next row, but moves it down if you get what I mean, and the bottom part is not displayed and cut off. The original 1 pixel line on the left remains as it first was. I have uploaded a photo.

I found what is causing the horizontal banding issue, it's the middle tab bond, when I press it down it fixes the issue. Perhaps if I put some tape on top and place the metal case it will hold it down. The 1 pixel line remains though.

I have read that some people have had some success with packing between panel and frame. Also heating with a hairdryer then pressing until it cools has had some success but you could make it worse - I have not tried either of these myself. The red line could be on another part of the bond?

Unfortunately I couldn't fix the tab bond, it's beyond repair. I tried many times different thicknesses of tape and it always failed and to the point of me not even being able getting the tab bond working even by holding it down with my finger. Oh well I'll keep this monitor for spare parts as my brother has the same monitor. Thanks for your help selldoor.

                  Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                  by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                  by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

                  Hi,
I'm trying to fix friend's Dell, it had liquid damage in the past, but as far as I know it was fixed in professional service. It was working fine for quite some time, except for dead battery, but recently there was blackout in the building and after power was restored, laptop was broken. When I got it, it was posting, but OS didn't boot, also backlight was gone. After some tinkering I switched off secureboot and it started booting normally, but backlight issue persisted. I opened it up and started looking for issues. Checked both fuses on display and all fuses on motherboard which I...
