    D201 Diode For Gateway FPD1975W/900W?

    Hello Fellas,

I have a Gateway FPD1975W or 900W inverter board that has a burnt D201 diode, I haven't had any luck finding a schematic for this monitor. Has anyone worked on one of these before? I need the value for this diode. Its black with a grey line on it,and has a ferite (SP?)bead on each side of it. That is all I know about it.

    Thanks As Always

Hint 1: Many manufactures use more than 1 power supply / inverter board in a given model of monitor. A picture will tell us much more than only a model number.

Hint 2: The application notes for the inverter controller and the power FET may show recommended components like diodes.

Hint 3: Most diodes are either black plastic or glass, and have a band at one end.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Are you sure it is not ZD201? That is what is fried on mine and I am still trying to identify.

Either way, can you look at your board and see any markings on ZD201?

          Please!!!

seems like I might have a board laying around for that...along with a vid card... screen was flash to white then went out... I used the screen for another monitor. parts avail cheap to anyone that wants! let me know, I'll double check.

If you have a board, please look at ZD201 just above the header pins and see if you can see any markings.

              Mine is burned beyond recognition.
              Here is a pic.

                Hello All,

First off sorry for no photo! Second, my board doesn't have a ZD201. Sorry.
Also its D204 not D201 as I posted before. My bad. I'm including pictures this time for all to inspect and comment on. Be kind!!! Thanks to all the fellas for the replies so quickly.

I went through my other boards and found one like the one you had a picture of. ZD201 has the numbers: LT52l0 & P6KEl2A under the LT52l0 Hope this helps in your search!

I see you have D204 removed. In that case, check the numbers on it and post them here. Otherwise, post a picture of the back side of the power board - this will help determine what the function of D204 is.
Also, was Q201 blown as well?

Sorry for the delay in posting. Yard work, oil change on my car. Yes Q201,D204 were shot. D204 doesn't have any numbering on account it was fried! Maybe these two additional photos of the bottom of this board will help to identify D204?

                            Yes, thanks.
Looks like D204 is the snubber diode, so you need a fast recovery rectifier rated for at least 1000v and 1A forward current (I would recommend 1.5A just to be safe). FR157 is rated for 1.5A and would probably work fine. PR1507G and UF1510 have the same ratings as well. A slight upgrade would be PR2007G, FR207, UF2007, and UF2010, which are rated for 2A, 1000V.
There's probably other choices as well, depending on where you buy from. If you have any junk power supplies, have a look in there first - they often have similar diodes on the primary side near the switching transistors.

Forgot to mention... Check C202, D203, and ZD204 for short circuit. Also check the SMD resistors to see if any are open.

Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

Hello everybody☺️ I am glad to be here and looking forward to a good discussion.

First of all, I am new here. Therefore I will shortly introduce myself.
I am Nico and currently I study Physics.
In my freetime I like to build and repair stuff. Especially big battery's.

A few years ago I got myself an electric unicycle, monowheel or however you call that.
The battery bms was broken so I replaced and resolder that. Nothing big.
I used this thing for some years and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I used it last time in heavy rain. Usually everything...

                                Hello Everyone,
I have 1 diode on a circuit that I suspected to be faulty because the forward and reverse bias has a voltage drop reading.
While compared to the reading of another diode from the next channel it won't read at reverse bias.
Now the problem is; it does not have any body marking.
So I tried to sketch the diagram and found out that it is connected to the base and collector of the C3632 transistor.
What do you think is this diode?
Can you please suggest what part number can i use to replace this faulty diode instead?

                                Hoping that you...

I was looking at an old battery powered electric lawnmower I picked up as the previous owner didn't want to buy a new board to replace a ruined old board. Tried to study how it was designed - it appears it has a huge 80A contactor...or rather, a 80A relay. It appears to be SPDT to control the motor. A 30A relay protects the circuitry.

The weird thing I don't quite get is how this thing is connected. The common contact is connected to the motor. The NO contact is connected to the battery, which is expected, so when the relay is activated, the common is connected to the NO contact and...
