Need Help - DELL 19 inch wide screen

i was wondering if someone could point me in the direction on what to look for (is there something common). it turns on, but has a white screen. i tried resoldering all spots and diddn't see any bad / bulging caps. i was in the middle of playing a game and just went to a white screen, still had audio but no picture.

    it is a SE198WFP
any help would be greatly appreciated

A white screen suggests that there is a problem with your logic card. Also double check/reseat the cables from logic card to the panel.

Or the board on the LCD panel is bad. Check the fuse on the LCD panel to see if it is open.

        1) Your pic is too small to see the fine details. In addition, please post pics after reading these instructions.

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1868

        2) From what I can see, the things that are circled in red are diodes (marked with "D"). To test them, put your multimeter in diode function test. Put black on one side, red on the other. Record measurement. Now reverse the probes and record measurement. One side should read between 0.4 and 0.7V and the other should say "1" or "0L" depending on your multimeter.

Fuses are normally marked with "F" and are near the incoming connector port (by the cables).

        3) The "panel" is the electronic panel that is usually tacked onto the LCD screen. The picture above is the logic card.

          weasel440,

The LCD's logic board (T-con board if it is on a separate board mounted at the back of the LCD panel) is where that flat cable on the left side of your pix goes to.

I am quite surprised the number of white screen LCDs I come across these days. 99% of the time it is the panel (after you verify proper voltages are at the p/s).

Hello lucky13. Other than a blown fuse on the panel board, do you normally find the cause (like a shorted transistor or diode)? Or, is the panel considered non-repairable?
