Dell E2010Hc power problem
Have this power problem. Monitor would just not come back on. No power LED at all. After letting sit for a couple of months with no power disconnected and no monitor cable connected, the monitor would power up with no problem. All the LCD CCFL's are good, but after a few days the power goes off and again no power led light. I have completely disassembled the monitor and checked the power board. Reconnected the control board, tcon board and the power board. Powered up nicely, but after running for a couple of days, turned off the monitor using the power button, came back to work from over...

Re: HP Elitebook 8560p pw need help pls.
If you cannot desolder the chip, then you may have to replace the system board. Luckily, my old 6910p was easy to reset the bios password. The instructions were in the
service manual. My Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 would have the same problem as you have if I had to reset the bios. I would have to send the whole computer back to Panasonic to have it done. Costs about $200.00.

Re: HP Elitebook 8560p pw need help pls.
Have you tried looking for the 8560p service and reference manual. Usually has pretty good info about clearing passwords for the bios.

Re: Samsung issue LED
Sounds like it's the control board for your set. You would still need
to tear apart the set and take pictures of the circuit boards. This will
help the forum to look at and give some pointers of wear to start.

LG Flatron L246WP one thin red line
Hi all,
I just got this monitor this past weekend. Looks great except
for one very thin magenta line that runs from about 3/4 in from the
top of the monitor to all the way down to the bottom of the monitor.
This not a problem I've seen before. This was a save from dumpster
monitor. Please advise. Other than this the monitor works great
via hdmi from my GeForce gtx 650.

Re: Samsung T240 self switch input
Check out this link:
It contains the same part you have for your T240, but the pdf
is for the 20" model of the Samsung monitor. According to the
pdf it looks like this part is not servicable, you just may have to replace
that part.

Re: Intermittent failure of HP1740 monitor
Pictures would definitely help here. I am very familiar the L1740 series. There at least
four different power supplies/logic board/display combos for this series. Two of the series even after repairing the power supplies turned out to be bad ccfls. One of the series was definitely blown capacitors. The final series BenQ I am not familiar with, because we don't have them, but posting pix here definitely helps.

Re: Some doubts I have.
From your picture this is definitely the fourth model of power supply that I've worked on.
Your picture shows exactly the same problem the two 1740s had. I replaced the 470uf25v (2) per board and voila the monitors worked. I had a third one fail at the same two
capacitors, but replacing the caps here did not fix the problem on this one. Since I already had two other spare 1740s, I elected not to troubleshoot further. I used Panasonic caps for the two repairs.
Added note:
Here's the spec on the Panasonic caps:

Re: Some doubts I have.
First check which model of HP L1740 you have. I have seen them with 4 different oem
power supplies. The one I am most familiar with is the Phillips power supply. The one I own starts with 715G. On these two models even after replacing the caps the problem turned out to be one or two ccfls was burnt out. The other 1740 power supply is made by BenQ. That one I am not familiar with troubleshooting. There is another power (not sure of the mfg) supply that replacing the bad caps repaired the monitor. Look at my 1st post for the Phillips power supply...

Re: Dell d620 motherboard dead
I was troubleshooting a similar problem on a d620. Using this very same article from Dell, we determined the problem was in the motherboard.
So the laptop was still under warranty and Dell sent out a technician to replace the motherboard.

Re: Another HP L1740 has died
Just when I've seen it all. This monitor has a Power/Inverter board model E58528 TCI-AjS D 94V-0. I see at least two blown Su'scon 470 uf
25V Caps. Now there are four types of power supplies for this series of
HP L1740 monitors. Phillips, 715g1955-1, BenQ and now this one.
The model number that's on the lead side of the power board is 490481400100R (QLPI-003 Rev. A 2005-10-11) and the logic board is 490481300101R
(QLIF-054 Rev.A 2005-10-11). I'll replace all the caps except for the large
100 uf 425v capacitor....

Another HP L1740 has died
Well,
Over the weekend one of our company's L1740 has died. Classic 2 seconds to black. I'm gonna replace the CCFL's on this one first before even looking
at the power supply. I know that the power supply has bulging caps from experience with this model of HP monitor. Lucky for me I have two spare repaired power supplies.

Re: HP 1740 LCD Monitor 2 seconds to black
If you have the power supply and logic board removed, disassembly of the lcd screen was not that hard. Also be carefull removing the lcd board that connects via mylar flat ribbon to the front of the lcd screen, I tore two when disaasembling the screen. I would definitely check the CCFL's first (with the Philips power supply board). There are two other companies that made the power supplies for this model of HP. Benq is one and the other I am not sure of. If ntehicks needs a repaired power supply/logic board combo, he can have one of mine....

Re: HP 1740 LCD Monitor 2 seconds to black
This looks like the same power supply problem areas that I had on my L1740 that I had to repair. I replaced the caps (got mine from Digi-key Look up my L1740 thread). Turns
out even after repairing the power supply the problem was that one set of CCFLs was burnt out. On another L1740 with the same power supply (this is a Phllips Power supply btw) problem, one set of CCFL's was burnt out. Definitely replace the bulging caps on the power supply and then check for the bad CCFL's.
