Yamaha HTR 2064 surround stuck on mute

    Hello Everyone!

After so many days!.. Finally back to begin with some interesting stuff I always love to work with.

If anybody can please assist me in correcting a problem with my Yamaha HTR-2064, which has its surround speakers stuck on mute.

Everything is working fine except the above. Troubleshooting so far has not yielded any result. So far comparing the voltages, show there is a 3.3v at the base of the transistors Q205 and Q206, which should be approx. minus 12. Other transistors base, of the muting circuit, shows -12v.

I have attached the service manual for reference, so if anyone has come across such a problem, it will be great if they can assist me further on this.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Q2203 (page78) must be turned on (or shorted), I suspect the cpu is telling N_S_MT to mute. Try a factory reset (page 21)

      Hey R_J,

      Thank you for replying.

I have already changed this transistor from an old board though the older one was working. The replaced one is shows identical reading on the multimeter, with diode test.

      CPU reset was performed already.

These are the only two channels showing this behavior, rest are fine.

      Regards,
      Hemant.

        Hi R_J,

The transistor was changed again but it made no difference. I can see some reading ( on the 2000 Kohm scale) across the capacitor C2260 which I think is keeping the voltage at 3.3 on the collector, as well.

I'll change that as well in some days, after getting the right size part and will write again.

        Regards,
        Hemant

          Hi All,

Yes, the culprit was the capacitor mentioned above.

Now the receiver is working fine.

Thank you all for reading this post and your assistance R_J.

          Regards,

Yamaha 2064 No sound but Test audio working
            by hemant_2222
            Hello Guys,

            Greetings!

Hope you all are doing well.

I am looking for suggestion on Yamaha 2064. The problem with this receiver is that it has no sound however when the test tones are activated it does outputs from all the speakers. It is working in two channel stereo mode but when you select other sound modes, it doesn't. The last time it had a problem, I had replaced the DAC
            PCM1681DBQR - IC263 and it worked fine.

Other issue with it is one of the STK ICs is getting more heated then the other one but that can be looked at later.

            Hey....

Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...

my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can´t understand...

            Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

            by ekozeko333
            Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 with board DA0LS3MBAF0 Rev:F. I’ve run into an unusual issue where USB-C PD is stuck at 4.7–5V and the system won’t boot (keyboard lights flash briefly, then nothing).
🔥 The Problem Started After Suspected ESD/PD Fault
I experienced a power issue or ESD event through a USB-C charger
After that, the NX20P5090 power switch was visibly burned and was replaced
Now the PD controller always negotiates 5V @ 2A, even with known-good chargers
🧠 What I’ve Done So Far
            Flashed...
