I have Sansui amplifier AU9500,, no sound, I found fuse 2 amperes, 7 amperes burns, I found too 3.3 uf 100 volts completly bulging under driver board, 1 transistor output 2SA679 shorted, and I found too the 4 capacitors 4700UF 63 volts they have not good value, I changed all these components and one of 2 capacitors 3.3 uf 100 volts is going very hot after 30 seconds, do I have power supply problem?

A 7 ampere fuse burns out, too, when rated for only 2 amperes? Sounds like a bad transistor to me! (besides the bad caps, of course!)ASRock B550 PG Velocita

Re: Sansui AU9500, capacitor blows
did this amp ever work for you ? a little will be a big help ..
the only caps i see with 33 is 33pf .Comment

Re: Sansui AU9500, capacitor blows
hold on a bit .. no way too much voltage got the 100v cap hot . 3.3uf isnt a value in that amp as far as i can see .. if you cant work out board designator id tell us what it connects to . and if there are holes in the board for it . it is possibly a late addition from factory .
some nice pictures will help .Last edited by petehall347; 07-30-2021, 06:53 PM.Comment

Re: Sansui AU9500, capacitor blows
I check voltage on the 2 electrolytics and it seems normal one gray wire have -49 volts and the other with yellow wire have +49 volts , they connect directly on bridge rectifier, I try to switch on amplifier and I remark distortion on one channel and after 1 minute the capacitor goes very hotComment

Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition
Description:
During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.
Procedure performed:
- Removed backplate
- Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
- Reapplied thermal compound
- Reassembled card
Observed behavior after reassembly:
- GPU powers on and operates normally under...11 Photos -

While messing around with my MacBook Pro, I stupidly pinged off a very small surface mounted component that I’m now trying to identify.
resistance tests show a rising resistance value, indicating a capacitor.
The laptop boots up and runs, however I'm choosing not to use it until I get it fixed.
i can’t see any markings on the capacitor at 10x magnification using a professional jewler's loop.
It seems like there's some damage to the capacitor - one side doesn't have "shiny bits" - can you tell I don't do this for a living!...5 Photos -

Originally you'd plug power supply into it and it would take up to 1.2 amps and then drop to 200 milliamps and then go back up again to 1.2, staying all the while at 5 volts. Pressing power button would results in power LED blinking amber 3 times. 3.3 volt rail, 5.1 volt rail present, main power rail 8.8 volts. Power button test pads near EC chip 2.7 volts.
I found a short on the other side:

by PrologHi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.
I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.
I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)
I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never... -
by Agent24I have acquired a used Dick Smith Q-1760 power supply - although the OEM is Manson Industrial
It has at least one problem.
The voltage control potentiometer VR2, 50K is faulty - going high resistance / open circuit in the CCW end and leading to the output voltage jumping around.
I have already ordered a replacement potentiometer, so that's not an issue.
Now, I want to replace all three electrolytics on the PCB as they are CapXon and I don't trust them so much, I will replace them with something better while I've got the thing apart anyway.
All are CapXon... - Loading...
