Re: Broken transformer on Carlsbro GRX7
I see two wires had spade connectors on them, I am guessing they connected to the power switch originally, What about the larger secondary wires, were they just floating around in the mixer and not connected to the bridge? too bad the customer played with it first, that's never a good sign. I wonder if this is the original transformer?Comment

Yer I also wondered if someone had put a different transformer in it.
So where did you get the 43V on the secondary before? was it just a guess?
Edit: Sorry my bad i was just being stupid and could not read the sticker properly it says 43V 3 Amps on it...
and the caps are doble that, so could well be the right voltage. So do you think i should just try and fit a 2x 43V 150VA Transformer and cross my fingers? lolLast edited by OrganiK; 05-16-2019, 01:56 AM.Comment

Re: Broken transformer on Carlsbro GRX7
You should try and find out what the voltage should be, if that is not the original transformer, 43vac is meaningless. What is the voltage on the main caps?
If the 43vac is correct you would have 60 vdc across the + of one capacitor and the - of the other, so about 30 volts across each capacitor to ground.
This must be the way they are using the transformer.
The second picture is how it is normally done, so maybe the customer broke the center tap wire completely off the transformer?Last edited by R_J; 05-16-2019, 09:20 AM.Comment

If it was 43Vac on either side it would give about 56Vdc for each cap that makes more sence for the 80VDC on the caps. we also know that its a 150W x2 amp at 2omh so that would need a voltage of about 17Vac = 24.5Vp so that fits better with it being 43Vac total.
Thanks a lot for you time and patients by the wayLast edited by OrganiK; 05-16-2019, 11:58 AM.Comment

by momakaFor today's thread, I have a KingWin ABT-650MM ATX PSU. Official web page with the PSU specs is still up and can be found here:
http://www.rmac.kingwin.com/products.../abt_650MM.asp
I just can't help it when I see a broken / for parts PSU on eBay that's listed for cheap and looks at least somewhat interesting. Well, OK, I won't lie – on the outside, this PSU looks anything but interesting. It's a plain gray box with colorful “spaghetti cables”.
What mostly drew me into buying it is its 2x PCI-E power connectors... -
by mikey5791Hi all,
Got this local made DC power supply (12/14V) given free as the transformer has melted. There is no marking or indication to identify what type or rating of transformer used.
Fyi,. I had a busted autogate mainboard with transformer with marking 13-0-13 . Is this the 13v dc type transformer?
My questions are
1. How do i test to see if the transformer is in good working condition?
2. Can this transformer (marking 13-0-13) be used to replace the melted transformer on the DC power supply?
Hope you guys understand what i was asking. My intention is... -
by ttmi100xGreetings everyone,
I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...
The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.
Upon closer inspection...6 Photos-

by angelosHi there,
I have this CD player from a Technics Component unit whose mains transformer is blown. The primary winding is open circuit. This transformer has many secondary windings on its secondary side. This transformer is obviously obsolete.
I need to know if my trick for a alternative transformer will work. Please check the attachment for explanation.
I want to use three separate transformers to be equivalent like the original transformer.
The only thing a bit dodgy is the connection of the 9.6V and 12V outputs of which there is a interconnection between the two windings....-
