    NAD T751 left channel dead

    Hi,

I noticed today that there is no sound output from the left channel of my nad t751 a/v receiver. Only thing you hear occasionally is a scratchy/crackling sound almost like when trying to manually tune a fm radio.

Where do I even start to try and identify what lost it's magic smoke so I can try and repair it? Still need to go hunt for schematics as well.

    Thanks in advance.

Is this happening on all audio inputs ( radio, cd, 5ch in, aux, etc. )?
See if there is audio signal on the left channel pre-out rca connector and on the headphones.

      Yes all inputs.

I'll have to check the pre-out, dunno how to check the headphone jack.

Can we have some pictures to see? Here is the Service Manual for it.

              Thanks for the service manual.

What would you like pics of and I'll take some?

              Thanks

Did you check the headphone output and the pre-out outputs?
What about the surr outputs - are they working?
                What about digital audio signal?

If the problem is affecting only 1 channel and the unit is powering up, my guess is that at least the power amp section is OK. Now you will have to find where the signal is lost. It could be faulty relay, bad board connection, bad op-amp, etc.
Do the above test to narrow down the options.

Ok I have not done much about this but the weird thing is not so long ago both channels started working again and then back to left only. Today the left channel is dead but the right channel now works, wtf!?!?

I dunno if it's my imagination but the relay no longer sounds the same when it kicks in, it use to have a lot louder click from what I recall.

HH Scott Model A510 Stereo Integrated Amplifier/ Graphic EQ - Blowing fuses in the LEFT speaker channel only. Any Help???
                    by Sik_6ty_Sixx
So like the title says, I have an old Stereo Receiver/Amplifier that I picked up from the goodwill, it's a HH Scott Model A510. When I first got it home it had zero output. Opened it up, notice the fuses are missing. Pop in 2 new fuses (AGC4A 250V) and try again, within 5 seconds the L channel fuse POP! I don't see any visible indications of damage or arc burns on the PCB, no popped resistors or diodes, no burnt traces or blown out caps. So I decide to just try another new fuse, POP. Swapped around my R and L speaker wires, and checked the integrity of all wires and connections. Everything looks...

                    Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
                    by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

Yamaha XP7000 Crackling in left channel
                    by xfreakx
                    Hi guys,

I have a problem with the power amplifier Yamaha XP700, I hope someone can help or point me in a direction.

The amp started occasionally to crackle in the left channel which in a short time period got more frequent and after a while the crackling occurred instantly on power on.
While checking for loose connections the amp's protection kicked in and turned the amp off. From then the protection turned the amp off in between 1 - 5 seconds after power on.

I switched the mono blocks for a test to make sure the error is in the block itself...
