Been searching around on the net to find directions to install a aux jack on this Delco 16009960 stereo. Have not found anything to help me out. Thought I would ask here to see if someone can enlighten me on how to accomplish this task. Thanks for any help.

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
Did you find the service manual for it? Otherwise you can try disconnecting the wire to the top end of the Volume control and feed the signal to top end of the pot it to see if it will have enough gain to accept low level audio signal or not.
Or trace out to see where top end of the pots go to.Never stop learning

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
I have looked for a manual, but have not found one yet.
I found this picture of a wiring diagram on another forum for this exact model radio. The directions the person had said to remove the blue wire from the circuit board, attach to it the wire with a.01 cap, and then connect the other wire to the circuit board. I see a blue wire on the circuit board, but it is attached the the board on both ends of the wire. Which end should I disconnect, or does it matter?
And where should I connect the ground?

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
I do not think that is correct, that is mono connection and the 0.01 uF will be too small of the value to get good low frequency, this is solid state and has low impedance compared to tube amplifier so the audio coupling cap will be much higher capacitance.
It is also not clear which blue wire the OP is talking about.
The Gnd can be the Grounded end of the Volume pots.Last edited by budm; 09-19-2016, 10:56 AM.Never stop learning

That looks to be the AMAPLIFER board with the power amplifiers attached to the heatsink.
There are are 4 pots, so what are the left knobs for Volume, tone control, Balance? The right knob for the tuning only?Never stop learning

What you listed is all correct for the left knob, right knob is for tuning, and changing from right, and left speakers.Comment

Can you move the wires out off the way so I can see the traces?
Also the pictures of the top side of the board.
I can see some labels on the board so that may help us figuring out the circuit.Last edited by budm; 09-20-2016, 10:33 AM.Never stop learning

That is good pictures, now I need the component side.
So far it looks like the location to use for the Left and right channel inputs will be the two pads on the top right PADS with 'L' and 'R' labels.Never stop learning

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
Thanks. I am impressed myself with the pics since it is a cell phone camera. Never thought the pics would be that good. Its a outdated Samsung galaxy S4 active. Older than the hills. I tested the posts with my multimeter, #1, and #2 in the stack are for tone and balance. The #3, and #4 are for volume.
Here is the component side.Last edited by Fisher77; 09-20-2016, 11:18 AM.Comment

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
1) Remove the RED (or may be orange, the color is not clear) wire from the 'L' pad and then solder the wire to pin 4 of the jack.
2) Remove the GREEN wire from the 'R' pad and then solder the wire to pin 3 of the jack.
3) Solder 10uf/25V cap with + leg to pin 5 of the lack, the - leg to the 'L' pad.
4) Solder 10uf/25V cap with + leg to pin 2 of the lack, the - leg to the 'r' pad.
5) Solder the GND wire to pin 1 of the jack and the end to the GND pad on the board marked with solid red circle as shown in the pictures.Never stop learning

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
Budm you are the man! That did the trick. I really appreciate your help!!
I have another question about this radio. I noticed the the 2 rear speaker outputs are louder than the 2 front speaker outputs. I assume that the 2 rear ones are louder because they are amplified. Question is, should the 2 front speaker outputs be amplified as well?Comment

Re: Adding a AUX Jack to this 80's Delco AM/FM STEREO
All the outputs are amplified. See if there is a "FADER" control on your radio.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.Comment

by wnlewisOK. I got the rocker switch figured out thanks to the good advice on this forum.
Now I need to figure out the correct wire to go to the switch from the broiler element and from the oven element.
This is a Whirlpool RDE3340 electric range.
The common wire on the switch appears to have a high temperature insulating material. I am guessing that both the wire to the broiler and the wire to the oven elements also need relatively high temperature insulation. What do I need to look for? The broiler is rated at about 2400 watts.

He replaced the adapter and an internal motherboard part, but after he returned it I noticed that the LCD did not look normal. I currently have a customer's vintage fan on the work bench to repair.
It uses an induction motor with 4 poles. One of the poles is open.
I couldn't find the break so i cut off the original wire.
I have measured the other poles and the resistance is about 28 ohms per pole and I measured the diameter of the wire with my digital calipers and it is 0.35mm in diameter.
I need to work out how much 0.35mm diameter enamelled copper wire i need to order for it to be 28 ohms. I have used this calculator and it says i need 160.35 metres.
