Need help repair an ADCOM cd-player

I need some advice with a repair of this CD player, GCD-575. Please see the attached pictures.
The problem is reading is erratic. I changed the laser, KSS-210 already with no special improvement.
    The problem is like this:

Insert a CD, spins up correctly and read the TOC quite fast, so far so good.
Normally starting at track 1 is generally no problem either.
But to skip tracks is troublesome. For example, going from track 1 to 2, will make the laser-sleigh go all the way to the outer edge of the CD and after a while, go back to center and occasionally succeed to read decided track.
I can't understand why the sleigh walk all the way to the edge.

    Appreciate any advice!

    sounds like the early playstations!

look closely at the sled and runners for flatspots or dried grease.
also look at all the gears for damage.
it should move smoothly with no play or binding.

2 big problems with old players are the sled running on plastic rails rubbing the plastic down, and grease going hard.
    specially with sony build gear!

temporary test - once you replace the missing washer & screw at the rear-right mount is to run the unit upside-down.
    that will detect worn runners

      Thanks,

On the laser unit I saw a few really worn out plastic teeth and this black plastic had went into the white gears, resulting in bad smoothness of the sleigh.
I then replaced the laser (including the plastic teeth since it's included in the laser assembly) and I also cleaned the white gears and now it seems to walk very smooth over its entire range.

I will try that upside down test, by the way, how will it detect worn out runners?

I found another complete mechanics incl laser assembly and tried it with no difference to behaviour of the sled.
This must be caused by some electronic failure.
Then I believe this will not be worth looking for...

it could be as simple as a cap, i bet there isnt much to the sled motor drive.

A lot of the laser pickups I'v changed over the years had problems with the clv motor, the one that spins the disc, if its in poor condition it won't respond to the drive signal properly, Sony & Panasonic had a lot of problems with the motors, I even recieved new Panasonc assembles that were bad right out of the box.

When reading the toc and after the laser goes to the end and back is because try to correct the tracking and focus to servo.
When you change laser you have to reset servo.
Some will do this again and again when you put another disc inside to calibrate. Then the cd plays natural.Dont adjust the potensiometer on the head especially on KSS if you dont have proper measure equipment.
Sometimes the problem is on plate and especially the springs make an small angle so when you pass the midway to cd start to jump.
Alot of KSS are not genuine and sometimes the genuine ones is destroyed from static or bad storage.

Try a drop or two of oil on the shafts of each of the motors in the unit. Allow the oil to wick itself down into the motors. I had a skipping Sony that was cured by this procedure.

Hilti PD30 Laser Range meter Error 276
                    by Dannyx
Good day folks.....wow, seems like forever since I posted anything here Still alive and well, thank you I guess you could say I've become more independent and able to work stuff out on my own. This one though goes way over my head and I doubt is fixable, but maybe some bright spark out there has an equally bright idea.

So: my Hilti PD30 laser meter quit on me just the other day. It was working fine, I set it down for a while and when I tried using it again it gave me an E276 and wouldn't do anything else. I tried taking out the batteries, all that standard stuff but nothing...

Power DeWalt 12V laser measure from power supply
                    by dansity
                    Hello,
i got a Dewalt laser measure which uses the 12V batteries to operate. The laser measure is faulty and I want to attempt a repair, never fixed such thing before. You might see a different topic if I fail with the repair
However I do not have dewalt batteries nor want to buy one for 140EUR as the laser tool might have some chance that it is very hard to repair or unrepairable.
I want to power it from my PSU.
The tool has 3 input pins, on the battery it is marked with B-, B+ and ID/TH.
i want to know what is the third pin exactly and what do I need...

I would like an explanation of how a laser can measure a product on a conveyor belt
                    by sam_sam_sam
                    I saw this on

“How do they do it “

The laser was measuring the diameter and the height of the product and the weight of the product and it was a straight line laser light across the the conveyor belt ( this is all that was shown in the video clip of the laser that was used )

What type of product is this that can do this

I want to thank anyone that knows what of laser this is

Hello I'm a rookie tinkerer hopping to find some knowledge about these big color laser printers and copiers.

The specific model I would like to fix.
KONICA MINOLTA C250P this is the printer only version of the full office photo copier. I have a one of the full office copier version for part too (that one gives an error for the yellow laser).

I'm adding a link above to a picture of print out form the C250P with visible vertical lines of CYAN YELLOW and MAGENTA mostly on the right side of the 11x17 print....

Modifying a Engraving Laser Module with out a TTL Module
                    by sam_sam_sam
I bought this laser module a few years ago and did not do anything with because I did not have a TTL module so it sat in project box to do something with at a later date

Well the later date has happened now

What I did to this module is disconnected the cooling fan and going to use with a fan temperature speed controller ( out of a surplus computer switching power supply )

Well now I have found a 15 watt TTL module that I just bought from AliExpress which I should have in a few weeks

Some time later when I have learned to use a laser engraver...
