Re-curbing the amp , all caps seem visually ok, amp hits distortion at vol level 3, any input. Using aiwa 6 ohm speakers . Any ideas

maybe the main smoothing capacitors have dried out.

Hi, replaced PSU caps, (2*6800uf) no change. Against schematic both rails were down about +\-6v. All regulated lines were correct. At a loss. Any thoughts.Comment

Kinda weird that it would distort upwards from 3. I assume both channels? Sometimes you gotta answer with desperate measures like Q21 and Q22 muteing circuit, or hauling out the old oscilloscope and see where this distortion is starting out from. It could be caps and IC, cold solder joints, transistors, a DC OFFSET.

I have a AIWA 32" TV model #
AW32B4SM that is turning ON with a blank screen. The backlight is working but there is no image on the screen. I did the standard troubleshooting checks: logic board inspection under microscope, reseating ribbons cables, power rail checks, diodes, mosfet checks, power on and measure voltages on coils, caps, vcc, regulator checks all check good. Then I measured the panel voltage (12v present) and noticed that the VONE (approximately 30v) was missing, the AVDD (15v) was only 5v, vcc 3.3v present, vcc 1.8v present. I was given an Aiwa Z-R700 from the 1990s era to look at by someone who said the twin tape deck did not work. The whole unit unit powered up ok but there was nothing from the tape deck. I had a look and found all the belts broken, I replaced the belts and then put the tape deck back into place and it still does not work. Also when I now power up the unit all the lighting on the front is very dim and the cd player and the tuner as well as the tape deck do not work. I have checked all the connections and ribbon cables again, there are no burnt or swollen capacitors. Maybe there are capacitors on... -

Have this old Asus X58c that have some distortion on output of ALC660 sound ic. distortion is in SPK and Headphone.
i dont have spare ic, but it looks like a bad ic. have anybody some experience with this error? -
