I have forgot to mention, that all this was measured with the receiver plugged in and was not turned on(reset).

Re: Pioneer VSX-1122K won't turn on

This is the micro controller LC87F5NC8A, which is located on the front assembly.
Can anyone help me to check this IC, if it's any good? Specially the scope measurements(there are two waves in the SM at troubleshooting no power chart).
I can't get those results, no matter what I try with the scope.

Re: Pioneer VSX-1122K won't turn on

I'm thinking, that maybe the EEPROM is corrupted.
I'm wondering, which one is the EEPROM and what kind of software is on it, the firmware which can be downloaded from Pioneer?
There is a TSOP48 IC on the bottom of the HDMI board with this designation:
        MX29LV640ETTI-70G
        http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...104-ND/2744787
        I don't see any 24C or 25C EEPROM on this Digital board(HDMI).
This part would contain the firmware?
There is a cheap MiniPro TL866 programmer, which it seems like it would support this IC. I would give it a try, if somebody would confirm my suspicion.
The whole board, is more then $500.

The 29LV640 is flash probably firmware. What makes you think you have eeprom corruption ?

It will show some life, only if I factory reset it.
It will show Power on and it's stuck there.
            Otherwise, is completely dead.
Standby voltage is there, final transistors are all OK.

As you know these hdmi boards are complex, like the main board in a tv. Have you tried the simple hair dryer trick to rule out a bad solder joint ?

I will try hot and cold and I will let you know.
I don't know, how to isolate the problem.

                  Did not help.
I could not do this, to the bottom part of the board though.

I will try contacting Pioneer, to find out if they have an EEPROM for sale.
If not, then I will just have to wait, to pick up another receiver and then hopefully, I can find out, which board is the problem.
                      Thanks anyway.

Have You solved this problem? I have the same... Just only "POWER ON" after 10sec holding STANDBY button. No idea how to fix it.

                              Best regards.

Have you checked the primary side of your power transformer? The thermal fuse inside the transformer may have opened. I just repaired two 819H's that had that problem. I was lucky that I was able to dig the fuse out. I used a 130 degree Celsius replacement.

On my own, I have voltages on the boards, so it is not from the transformer.
I have done that fuse repair once, myself as well.

Re: Pioneer VSX-1122K won't turn on

I'm back to look at this receiver again.
I have removed the amp and measured the voltage regulators 12V, 5V, -5V at the middle bottom of the receiver and the voltages are there. Also the 5.6V coming from the power supply is there.
I have started to measure voltage regulators on D main board and some of them are there, but I have found a voltage that is not all there. It sould be 3.3V and I'm measuring 0.5V. There is almost a short(1.6Ohm), between the output and ground pins. IC9520, page 88 (BD9328CN) V+3V3_HHH.
I have removed the IC, but the short is still there. I have checked the nearby components and they all look good. My question is, how do I find the shorted component?
The receiver's MCAA LED, starts blinking as soon as I plug it in. If a I hold down the Tune- and Control Multi Zone Off buttons, at the same time, it will try to start(shows Power On) and in a couple of seconds, it will shut off and the MCAA LED will start blinking again.

The protection circuit it was on(MCAA led blinking), but as I said in your thread, I started disconnecting connectors and the only connector left, it was the front boards with the wide ribbon cable and the 5.6V power cable.
So, I have made the decision, to remove the HDMI board and the power board.
After that, I don't know what happened, the MCAA led did not turn on again.
I have made sure, that nothing is shorted out.
I don't know now, what could be the problem.

I have an older Pioneer receiver (VSX-44) that's been dropping the HDMI output (black screen) for a few seconds every few minutes. Setup is HTPC -> Pioneer DVD HCMI in -> Pioneer HDMI out -> Samsung TV HDMI in, all with cheap HDMI cables that have never caused trouble before..

I initially found a lot of play in the receiver's HDMI inputs and output so I kind of squeezed them back into shape and they're making a tighter connection, but the problem persists.

And also, often, the HDMI will drop out in exactly the same way (black screen) just as my central air...

Hi all! I have a problem with Pioneer VSX-D1011 – it don't turn on when the amplifier is disconnected from the socket for a few minutes. Standby LED doesn't light up. I'm a beginner in electronics, so I'm not very good at reading schematics. I tried to find the visual damages of components but I didn't see anything wrong. All of the fuses are ok, both of the switches the same. Have you any idea where should I start looking for? Once on every 100 tries I am able to turn it on, but what can it depend on?

Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Pioneer VSX-1123 Receiver - weird voltage problem
                                            by pulper111
Hello. My receiver "seems" to be working fine. It functions as it should. the receiver is the Pioneer vsx-1123. However, while doing some work in the house, I noticed that my HDMI cable from the receiver was registering as "hot" using my fluke non-contact voltage tester.

I've done some troubleshooting to try to narrow down the problem, and all wires (speaker/hdmi/subwoofer) coming from the receiver, whether it's powered on or stand-by, register as "hot". none of my other receivers are experiencing this issue, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with...

Pioneer SX-S30 need help identifying SMD semiconductors Also need service manual and/or schematic
                                            by ccbargains
I have not been able to locate a service manual for this Pioneer SX-S30 receiver. The unit will not turn on. I am troubleshooting the switch mode power supply. I found three smd semiconductors that test open while in circuit. The first (Q904) is a transistor marked AZ43W. The second is a diode D905 marked L68 and the last is a diode D906 marked 66 CU1M. I have attached photos.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you....
