Hi all! I have a problem with Pioneer VSX-D1011 – it don't turn on when the amplifier is disconnected from the socket for a few minutes. Standby LED doesn't light up. I'm a beginner in electronics, so I'm not very good at reading schematics. I tried to find the visual damages of components but I didn't see anything wrong. All of the fuses are ok, both of the switches the same. Have you any idea where should I start looking for? Once on every 100 tries I am able to turn it on, but what can it depend on?

Re: Pioneer VSX-D1011 - turn on problem
I think you may get more luck with folks reading this thread better, if you upload some high resolution pictures, maybe a service manual etc.
Not seeing the patient X, I am guessing your problem is capacitor related to the STBY start circuit on your unit. Probably if you heat the PSU up with a hair dryer for a bit so the caps get warm, the STBY is starting right away and stays that way until you unplug it and let the capacitors cool off (or freeze them with a can of air upside down).
Anyway... look in your service manual page 61, find where and how the STBY is created in the PSU check the components and change the related capacitors and or regulator out if you have to.
Good luck!Attached FilesLast edited by CapLeaker; 09-09-2023, 06:31 AM.
