I have a Sony STR-D1015 that has gone into Protector Mode. I have read a lot about bad solder joints and other problems with output transistors. I took all the speakers loose so I know it is internal. I have also read there were several people that had a problem with the STK350-130A going bad. Can anyone tell me how to tell if the STK350-130A is good or bad? Any other trouble shooting tips? I work on TVs as a hobby but haven't done any Audio stuff.

You can down load the spec sheet and check to see if it has DC offset voltage at the output pin. Or check at the speaker relays terminals (the one that is connected to the out pins of the STK.Last edited by budm; 01-07-2014, 03:02 PM.Never stop learning

I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Recently I was given for free a Sony RCD-W3 with the following symptoms, CD recorder drive reads CDs without any issues (haven't tested recording function yet because I don't intend to burn CDs on that machine) but the reader drive shows disc error after some seconds of it trying to read CD. Tried both CD-Rs and commercial audio CDs with same results.
First thing to do was to clean the lens but that didn't change anything. Googling the issue revealed that this is a common issue on several Sony CD recorder machines and the culprit is SMD electrolytic caps located on the PCB bellow...05-05-2024, 02:04 PM -
For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
