Found out that one of the screws on the heat sink for the diodes was grounding the power supply out...once I fixed this the tv powered right up.

    Rca l42wd22

I found a RCA L42WD22YX6 tv that is not powering on. When I plug the tv in I get a green light on the front but nothing else happens. I found some bad capacitors on the secondary side of the power supply and replaced all of the capacitors on the secondary side, even the ones that looked ok. However, now I have the power supply when plugged in to the tv continues to click. It almost sounds like it trys to start three times (3 clicks) and then shuts down (4th click). Then is immediately starts with the 3 clicks again and shuts down with the 4th click. I have tried unplugging the master and slave...

  • Sony STR-D1015 Protector Error

I have a Sony STR-D1015 that has gone into Protector Mode. I have read a lot about bad solder joints and other problems with output transistors. I took all the speakers loose so I know it is internal. I have also read there were several people that had a problem with the STK350-130A going bad. Can anyone tell me how to tell if the STK350-130A is good or bad? Any other trouble shooting tips? I work on TVs as a hobby but haven't done any Audio stuff.

Didn't see any caps swollen or anything...might have to dig down to the inverter boards...don't like how I have to take everything out to get to these though.

    Toshiba 42HL167

I have a Toshiba 42HL167 that is been acting up on me lately. Sometimes every thing works fine and then others the backlights won't turn on. I have checked the power supply and it is providing 24 volts to the inverters even though they are not turning on. Does this sound like bad inverters to you guys or bad caps somewhere else?

Sometimes I turn it on and everything comes up fine, led blinks and turns green, screen comes on. Other times it seems ok, led blinks and turns green (stays green) but the back lights never come on. Other times I have turned it back off and then turned it...

Well, me just being stupid, didn't check the fuse. The fuse was open, I replaced it but still no joy. I will take it back out and see if the fuse blew again. Anyone have a schematic of this power supply?

  • Re: Panasonic TH-42PX75U

I believe the bridge rectifier is shorted on mine...the short over the 100 ohm resitor is apparently supposed to be there as from the schematic I found they actually call it a dummy resistor and both leads are connected to the same point, which I am not sure why.

I am having a similar problem with my tv...can't seem to find the short though...I have a short over the 100 ohm resistor but can't tell if the bridge rectifier is shorter...I took the fet out of the circuit so this shouldn't be shorted. The 10 ohm resistor was blown and and I have replaced this. Do I need to take the rectifier out of the circuit to test it properly?

  • Re: Rca l37wd12 lcd tv

Ok, here are some pictures...the capacitors that typically fail have been replaced, not a great solder job but didn't have much to work with since I bought this power supply on ebay and believe the previous owner attempted a repair. This power supply worked for awhile but now has quite working. As I stated before I can control the on/off signal providing the 120v to the power supply. On the output connector all I am seeing is 3.1v on Pin 1 of the 7 pin connector which I assume is a on/off signal as well. Any ideas?...

I will try to post some pictures tonight...I at work right now and honestly I haven't looked at it for about a week so I will try to get it back out and do some investigating as well.

Based on the interconnect diagrams and what I understand on here...when I hit the power button it sends a signal to the scaler board and the scaler board goes to the 1W power board and turns a relay on that supplys the 120v to the SMPS which then supplys the 12v and 24v signals. Does this sound accurate?

  • Re: Rca l37wd12 lcd tv

I know that this is an old thread but I believe I am having trouble with my power supply on this model. I am getting the on and off signal because the 120 volts supplying the power supply comes on and off. However, I am not getting any outputs from the power supply. I have already replaced all the capacitors with FM Panasonic's but still no help. Any other suggestions on where the failure my be or a schematic of the power supply board itself.

    Thanks!

Not sure what happened on this one...unplugged and plugged the cable going to the inverter board from the panel board and put it back in and now the tv works. Weird

I am working on this tv and wonder if I have the same problem. When I plug the tv in the power supply just keeps turning on and off every second...click, click, click, click, etc... until I unplug it. Same thing if the inverter boards are disconnected. Was wondering I guess if it was just capacitors or something else.

    Emerson LC320EMX

Ok...I have and Emerson LC320EMX that won't turn on. When I hit the power button the green light flashes two or three times but then goes back to red. I have tried replacing both the power board, A91F9MPW, and the inverter board, A91F9MIV but nothing changed. The only way to make a difference is to unplug the ribbon cable between the power supply and the inverter. This allows the green light to flash 12-15 times then stay green which I can only assume means it is on...at this state I do have the 170 VDC going to the inverter from the power supply. Does anyone have a service manual on this one...

My model is the LC320EMX, does anyone have a service manual for this? My model seems to be a little different than the one posted.

  • Re: emerson LC320EM9 Blinking power light

From what I see on here there seems to be a diode that needs to be replaced.

I just got a tv that is doing this and will be trying to figure out which one as well.

Looks like there is a diode in the circuit that tells the main board the inverter is on, which I believe is probably on the main board since I have tried replacing the inverter board already. If someone has some insight it would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
