Another Ebay deal on broken gear

    Just scored a Peterson Strobo-Stomp for $6.00
Supposedly both 1/4 inch jacks were ripped out. Should be interesting to see if that's all that is wrong.

Re: Another Ebay deal on broken gear

Well it seems to work. Resoldered a few broken wires from the stomp switch to the interface board, bypassed the 1/4" jack switch, and fed it a 440hz signal from my Ebay special function generator and it fired up. Virtual strobe slowed down and stopped as I hit an accurate 440.0 and displayed A. The far left section of the LCD might be a tad wonky, but I was feeding it a noisy signal via some unsheilded wires with it disassembled.

Now to find some 1/4" jacks to fit....

I love feebay for stuff like that, but I have gotten plenty of junk as well.

You really need to get it cheap. Most electronic stuff on feebay has already had the magic smoke released! (It`s soul) and can`t always be brought back to life.

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
        by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
        cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...

Backlight strip quality, Amazon vs Ebay vs ShopJimmy. Is there really a difference?
        by DXseekerMO
        Hello everyone!

Recently I've noticed that some ShopJimmy backlight strips don't have double-sided tape installed upon them when an application calls for it, and I must purchase the tape separately. In a recent chat conversation with a customer service agent I told them if this tape wasn't applied when it was called for I would begin to consider ordering my backlight strips elsewhere. It looks like this time may have come.

I recently got a TCL 65S4 with bad backlights. After looking at the SJ listing here: https://www.shopjimmy.com/tcl-jl-d65...365as-m-led-ba...

Problem with the Logitech G27 gaming steering wheel gear lever
        by render1967
Hello! First, please excuse me if my English is not good enough because it is not my native language!
Now let me describe my specific problem. For two days, the gear lever on my Logitech G27 has shown the following defect. When switching in the game (for example ETS2) it often does not detect 1st, 3rd and 5th gear - in these positions it shows neutral or flashes between the specific gear and neutral (for example - 1st <> neutral). When I press the gear lever to the left or right while it is in a position, it still manages to guess the gear and engage. In addition, instead of rear...

Aorus 17G YD laptop, broken display, could not switch to external monitor
        by ArchangelGabriel
Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop. Broken display, some cable ripped form daughter board connector, case broken, battery discharged and probably locked, etc. After I did the most tedious job I ever did on soldering back the broken cables (shielded cable) , I measured resistance on CPU and GPU core, 3 and 5 v ps and any coils I find on the board, everything seems to be fine. After I plugged the charger I don't get the power led light on from the charger connection maybe because the battery is locked , but on power button I have

Resonator - quartz broken - how to find the same (same frequency) ?
        by corrize
Hello, I have a Fujifilm hybrid camera with an issue : the time don't run. I set 12:00 and 3 min later, the same : 12:00
I saw an obvious root cause : a broken quartz (resonator). But with the box broken, I can't read the marking code. Probably : 464… or A64…
I found on the web a picture of the same camera board but with marking code very different. Probably : A7…5N
I'm searching another one for compare…
Do you have an idea or another way for find the frequency of this resonator please ?
