    Condenser tumble dryer component id

Any idea what ohm this resistor should be?
Reads, in-circuit, 2.2ohm with board disconnected but looking it up should be a 270ohm resistor. My eyes are seeing 4 bands - yellow, violet, brown, gold.

The components either side of it read higher values so don't see the need to remove from the circuit i.e diode, caps and resistors seem ok.

And what wattage is this likely to be? 3W

    Thanks

that's an inductor, if it has low resistance then it's o.k.

Out of circuit the resistor reads 2.2 ohm, same as in circuit.

It must be a 2.2 ohm res, if it was bad it would be open circuit, not shorted! Right?

Thanks, just saw your post. And oh yes. just noticed the L003 ref on the board too, doh!

It is a 470 microhenry coil, NOT a resistor, the 2.2Ω is likely your meter leads plus the inductor DC resistance which is likely under 1Ω.

          Heat pump tumble dryer regas
          by notallbad
Just wondering if anyone has successfully attempted a re-gas on a heat pump tumble dryer.

The dryer currently in question runs on R134a.
The dryer has been completely stripped down/cleaned/tested and re-assembled however there is no heating/cooling effect so working on the assumption it requires re-gassing. Of course, its likely theres a leak which would require soldering or even the possibility that the compressor has an internal fault even though it is running.

I was thinking of getting a car aircon regas kit or probably easier but slightly dearer an hvac...

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
          by jinu_j
          Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

          1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
          2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
          3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
          4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

Beko Tumble Dryer DTLCE80021W cutting out/tripping RCD
          by spleenharvester
This dryer is several years old and has previously had a new motor cap. Currently it's behaving erratically - sometimes it finishes the cycle fine, other times it cuts out after a random period of time (just stops with no LEDs as if it has finished normally), and occasionally it trips the RCD. There's always steam coming off the clothes at the time it cuts out.

Going to pull it apart tomorrow, before I lob a new heating element at it is there anything else worth checking? It's £70 for a new heating element and the whole machine only cost £180 to begin with...

          Cheers

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
          by mikey5791
          Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...

Can a resistor lose resistance after hot air?
          by MidnightRoller
I am curious if a 0402 resistor could go from 43 ohm to 0. In electronics class and my experience a resistor can degrade and gain resistance all the way up to not being able to conduct at all. I have never heard of a resistor decreasing in resistance and becoming 0 ohm or a dead short… that's not the direction they fail… or so I thought.

I was attempting to remove a wson8 chip on an iMac motherboard and it required a lot of heat, on one side of the chip were 3 0402 resistors that were very close. I popped the chip out unintentionally out of the tweezers and sent those resistors...
