have a Samsung dryer model #DV45H7000 with no heat. problem is control board - has a bad diode. can't figure out what type of diode it is or what to replace it with. control board is part #DC92-01626B - diode is D18 on board (under magnifying glass looks like W2). If anybody has a replacement that will work - thanks.

Re: samsung dryer control board
D14 is the snubber diode (1N4007 will do), as you can see, it is connected in parallel with the relay coil.
I cannot see how D14 and D18 are connected in the circuit, if they are also snubber diode for relay coil then 1N 4007 will also work.
BTW, you test these relay coil snubber diode in circuit, you will get false reading due to the DCR of the relay coil which is connected in parallel with the Diode.Last edited by budm; 03-26-2020, 04:36 PM.Never stop learning

Re: samsung dryer control board
hate these control boards ! whole story on this - heater coil relay was bad on board( dryer turned on - tumbled, no heat. after diagnostics, realized the heater relay contacts were bad. took some time but I pried control board out of the plastic shroud that it was "glued or epoxied in" and possibly ruined a trace or twisted the board which could have broke a trace of solder connection. replaced bad relay with new one - now the motor doesn't turn on. That glue was nasty - like rubber cement. I did find a broken trace - repaired it. still no motor turn on. tomorrow - i'll check solder connections around relays.
side note - I have a second (good) control board and with it installed - dryer works perfectlyLast edited by ajshoe; 03-26-2020, 06:21 PM.Comment

Re: samsung dryer control board
Do you have any voltage on the secondary output capacitors of of the switching power supply board
Because it has a TNY277 it looks like I have found a few of this type of switching power supply regulator going bad or just plan bad
When I see this type of switching power regulator I just replace them if I am having problem with the power supplyComment

Re: samsung dryer control board
turns out nothing was wrong with control board except I scratched some traces on board when removing gunk around components. Samsung has some of the worst documentation on their products. turns out there was a contactor broken on the motor contacts. These contacts tell the control board the motor is running and then enables the heater circuit to turn on. anyway - dryer works perfectly now.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by ohrenI hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.
I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.
The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively.... -
by YanlebHi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.
The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.
But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.
All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
