Electrolux Ultrasilencer and UltraOne vacuum cleaners not starting

    Hi all!

New to the forums, this is my first time posting so hoping to do a good enough job making sense.

I have two vacuum cleaners having the same issue of not being able to start on their own but when they get going (by manually shorting power to the motor on the internal PCB) they will keep running and also allow me to switch on and off again for a while using the power switch until the issue returns.

The models are below and i will attempt to attach pictures of both sides of the PCB from one of the machines (they look basically identical).

    Electrolux Ultrasilencer Zen Green EUS8GREEN
    Electrolux UltraOne Green EUOC9GREEN

My fault finding so far has been removing most of the larger components from the top side of the PCB and testing them out of circuit but this has not led to anything yet. I also replaced the BTB16-600 triac with one from a working machine without any change.

Hope someone can come with some input what might be the issue when a machine behaves like this. I'm assuming both have the same issue so it would be very nice to be able to fix two vacuums with one stone so to speak.

Yes check the big yellow film caps have not gone low value. C2 334 or 0.33uF I would suspect and C3 to check.
Should measure 5.6VDC across zener diode Z1 for power. I also see TP4 +5V as well across the electrolytic. Circuit common is usually weird like a -5V rail is what is used.
The rivet job looks terrible for the triac, I can't imagine the fit does much for heatsinking it.

And the results are in! Both X2 yellow film caps were borked on both boards. I had some replacement 224 (220 nF) ones from scraps but will need to wait for the 334 (330 nF) replacements.

Many thanks again stj and redwire for the tips!

Electrolux ERG22 vacuum cleaner pcb fault
              by Crystaleyes
So, I have this Electrolux vacuum which had the batteries revently replaced and now it won't work.

The voltage from the batteries is arriving to the board without problem (+/- 12v) @ CN4 & CN6.
The motor works fine when voltage is applied to FM+1 & FM-1. The switching on and off is made in the negative line between CN6 and FM-1, and all components have been tested as fine apart from a FET.

The problem appears to be that the PHD71NQ FET (Q18) isn't switching when the power button is pressed.

I say this as when I started to connect my component...

Hoover FM216LI cordless vacuum refuses to charge
              by flat-earther
I have a Hoover FM216LI cordless vacuum which isn't charging its internal battery.

I opened up the unit, and it has 6x Samsung ICR18650-22P cells connected in series.
5 cells were at about 3.3-3.1V. one was at 2.4V, so I assumed this cell was bad that's why the vacuum wasn't charging so I replaced it with another 18650, but after that the problem still persists, the vacuum turns on a bit and then cuts out since the batteries are empty.

So I think the over discharged battery wasn't the culprit, it was a symptom of the unit not being able to charge its batteries....

ASUS Prime Z390-A not starting up - possible issue with PCH
              by karlp028
I'm working on an ASUS Prime Z390-A that isn't reacting to the power button. All of the standby voltages and signals are good. The PCH is receiving O_PWRBTN#, but it is not de-asserting SLP_S3#, SLP_S4#, or SLP_S5#. I started probing around and noticed the voltage on RTCX2 is around 1.5V, which seems crazy high. On RTCX1 it is around 300mV, which is normal. I don't see any waveform either. When the PCH is not powered, the resistance on RTCX1 is about 2.5M ohms and on RTCX2 it's about 8.5M ohms. When the PCH is powered on, RTCX1 shows about 7M ohms and RTCX2 shows OL.

              I suspect the...

Electrolux EUO9GREEN Vacuum Cleaner doesn't start
              by Henke
I have a vacuum cleaner that won't start. I have desoldered 2 capacitors with low value. But i don't know if they can cause that kind of problem. Someone here with any thoughts and inputs?

I marked the capacitors on the pcb picture with red and blue dots. The big one marked with 334 K measures 216 nF and the other one marked 224 K measures 109 nF.

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
              by rounin
              Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

              🛠 Original Issue
              The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.
