    First motherboard repair, which device?

I've learned many things through own research. However, repairing motherboards with only basic electronics knowledge has been more challenging than I thought. I've given up many times but I am on the verge of another attempt and I need your advice.

I have two devices here and I wonder which one would be best for a newbie
    • MacBook Air motherboard (part no.: 820-000165) orange light on charger, no pwr, no fan
    • Or an iPhone 6S no power, not even with new battery

(Other device tips are also welcome but these two I have at hand)

fone is probably the charge/power chip - i think it's TriStar on those.

for the macbook, luis rossmann has a big pdf about fixing those that lists all the faults/symptoms

Right! The TriStar chip is quite challenging to solder right?
