Hi all, This is my Coffee maker main board. Last week there was an electrical surge & it blew out the fuse and this 2 watt resistor. Can anyone figure out the value of the resistor. It on the AC line, hope someone can help view this attached photo or if anyone has this schematics. Thanks in advance.

Re: Burnt Resistor Value
Thanks for the reply.. If you see the photo close, before the resistor there was a thermistor which was burnt too, this was shorting the AC lines, once replaced the short was 100% gone & there are no shorts further on in the circuit. Now it's only the resistor value I need to know to repair this board. If anyone can help me finding this Value, by the shape I know it's 2 watt. ThanksComment

Re: Burnt Resistor Value
You won't get a reading ACROSS the resistor you will need to clean part of the exposed wire to get any reading, This value should be close to half the original value. You could also provide a clear picture of the trace side, maybe we can figure out a close value.Last edited by R_J; 11-29-2022, 08:36 PM.Comment

by CG2I've got a 240v LED uplighter which isn't working. Pulling it apart shows a clearly burnt resistor on the circuit board, and I'm hoping some of you will have suggestions on what to replace it with. First, here are some photos. Power comes in, through the fuse and choke, then through the big blue variable resistor labelled B500K (ignore the similar blue component at the bottom - it's a simple switch for an attached reading lamp). It then passes through the burnt resistor (or at least did once), through diac DB1 and the unburned 30 ohm resistor to the gate of the triac. Now I assume there's a simple...3 Photos

by trickarttHello Badcaps!
I am trying to troubleshoot my Allen & Heath Xone:02 DJ mixer. I have had this for somewhere close to 20 years and have played music through it in one form or another pretty much every single day since I've had it, though these days it's usually from a wireless streaming receptacle (Apple Airport) more than the turntables that are also connected to it.
This week my music stopped working, and after a bit of a wild goose chase, I realised my mixer was dead. I checked the 500mA fuse in the device beside the power supply and found it was blown, so I replaced...-

by sparcktikusHi
I have an Ersa rds 80 soldering station which has developed a fault and just showing err on display
I have found a burnt resistor on pcb can anyone help me identify this resistor if you have a circuit diagram or similar unit
The printed circuit board markings are rd80 ver 2.0 and the resistor in question is R6
Many thanks... -

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.
1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...-

by mikey5791Hi to all forum members,
Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.
Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor... - Loading...
