    NO 16v caps on board?

    I'm going to bed after the nightshift here, you west guys still asleep, the eastern part living up the day...but before getting to my bed I wondered : I've seen a few boards with socket 370 (462 maybe too, can't recall for sure) which had no additional +12v 4pin rail with ONLY 6.3v lytic capacitors, various capacitance values, but the peak voltage, no 16v caps...so it is possible to build/use a board without necessarily using 16v caps, right?

    I'm gonna dream about this, I'll tell you later of the nonsense I will have to face!

      old boards up to the Athlon XP era used the 5V rail to power the cpu. the last board doing that was the Asus A7N8X series IIRC.

      the pentium 4 roomheaters were the first to use the 12V rail instead.. and everyone else shifted over from 5V to 12V later on.. (which is also why old PSUs have a lot more oomph on the 3,3 and 5V rails.. as those were used for the CPU and basically everything else..)

          I have an ASUS A7V600-X (KT600 chipset) and it uses the 5v rail for the CPU and has no 16v caps.
          I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

          No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

              I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

              Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

              I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

              The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

              With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Replacement caps for Samson Resolv studio monitor 65A Amp board.

              Good day!

              I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

              I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...
