Mosfet goes from reading to OL

    HI guys

    I have a Toshiba Mosfet K3569

When I test it, the reading between D and S (after turning on) get from a voltage and getting higher until OL in an seconde or so. Is that a normal situation or a bad MOSFET?

All bad mosfet video I saw on youtube only show shortened reading between D and S .

    Thanks

And sorry if my english is bad!

Re: Mosfet goes from reading to OL

It is normal, testing a mosfet from D-S, the gate is sensitive to static charge.
If you first "charged" the gate to turn it on, then it will slowly lose charge with the gate not connected.

You must short G-S to ensure mosfet is off. Then look for a short or leakage across D-S.

To look for a short or leakage across G-S or G-D, there is nothing to worry about.

I just changed 2 brand new mosfets that tested perfectly fine, but wouldn't close the gate with a load... so just replaced them with budm recommendations..

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
        by Jane
I tried to use this method:

        Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the

MOSFET no voltage at gate Quanta G7HA DAG7HAMB8EO
        by irfan karatela
I'm working on a HP Pavilion Laptop Model 15-eh1508sa that is missing 19v. I've looked at the schematics and want to know what conditions the ISL9238C checks before it enables the gate for MOSFETs PQ8200 and PQ8201,

I havent found any shorts on the board.

I get 19v at +PRWSRC but around 1.7v at the Drain of PQ8201(+vin)

On Page 82 of the attachment. Link to schematic - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ilion-laptop-p...

Help identifying mosfet on Razer Blade RZ09 (CH570_MB_NT)
        by redbaron1007
I have a Razer laptop (RZ09 MB# CH570_MB_NT) that has a shorted mosfet marked BND M03 E067 that I'm unable to find anywhere online. Does anyone either know what the part number is for this mosfet or have a schematic I can find it in?

Backstory on the whole thing the laptop was plugged into a lamp at a hotel. The lamp got unplugged while it was charging and now the system won't power on anymore. I found the caps around this mosfet shorted and when I injected voltage into the caps the mosfet got hot and my bench psu was pulling 5A. Pretty sure this is all that's wrong with the laptop...

MOSFET? Is its voltage reading normal?
        by alro7779
        Hello, guys!
Got this 8-pin MOSFET (I presume) on the motherboard that I'm still trying to repair (HP Stream 11-ah117wm DAY0HGMB6C1 REV:C), close to the DC IN connector, and when I read voltage on Drain (5-8 pins) and Source (1-3 pins), I got the 19.81 VDC of the DC IN on each, but on the Gate (pin 4) it's 25 VDC. Is it normal? Now, I'm not quite sure the component is a MOSFET, but it looks like, and since it has the printed code on it totally unreadable, I can't try to find the datasheet. Can anyone give me a hand on this? Or maybe ff there's some MOSFET tutorial or something that you can...
