    Hello,

I have a question about this NMB1002 High Voltage Transformer. Can i buy NMB0002? If someone is confused its just difference in first digit, in my case is 1 and the one that i can buy is 0.

    Thank you!

They do not look like they have the same pinout.

I looked at the pictures from budm and it looks like NMB1002 is surface mount and NMB0002 is through hole.

Is there any substitute for NMB1002 or i need to find original?

NMB1002 is SMD and i mentioned NMB0002 whic is through hole but in fact that is not big problem in both cases

          Re: NMB1002 HV Transformer

I checked that picture you gave me Budm for HV NMB0002 Transformer and i think that the pin out is same as on NMB1002. I am posting a picture of a NMB0002 from site you gave me but i marked it in 2 colors.

Red shows pins that are connected
Black shows pins that are disconnected

It doesnt mater that one transformer is smd and other isnt.

And i am also posting pictures from mine transformer from left and right side, and it can be concluded that pins are same, difference is only that pins on my transformer that are not connected(and they are in same order not connected on picture that budm posted for NMB0002) have just short pins and from top picture they look like they dont exist.

Hope that i explained this clearly and just to mention once again i compared picture of NMB0002 with mine NMB1002.

            Re: NMB1002 HV Transformer

The question is how the NMB0002 and the NMB1002 winding are terminated to each pins, and the pin assignment may or may not be the same. There must be a reason why they are not using the same form factor. Beside, you need to know the impedance, the DCR, etc. You cannot really tell until you test them out or find the specification for both transformers to verify.

              Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?
              by ohren
              Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

              Measured voltages with no load:

              After rectifier diodes
              12V: 6.17 V
              5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
              12V: 2-2.5 V
              5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

Is it possible for transformer substitution?
              by mikey5791
              Hi all,
Got this local made DC power supply (12/14V) given free as the transformer has melted. There is no marking or indication to identify what type or rating of transformer used.
Fyi,. I had a busted autogate mainboard with transformer with marking 13-0-13 . Is this the 13v dc type transformer?
              My questions are
              1. How do i test to see if the transformer is in good working condition?
              2. Can this transformer (marking 13-0-13) be used to replace the melted transformer on the DC power supply?
Hope you guys understand what i was asking. My intention is...

Can High Side damage on an SMPS get across the Transformer to the Low Side?
              by Briesmith
I have a blown smps and I am looking for some reassurance as to the amount of diagnosis I have to do. It blew the instant I plugged it in not under any load.

As you can see from the attached pix, the damage is located around the main or bulk capacitor (since removed for testing) and the resistor array/network that drives it (the bunch of SMD components to the left of the YAMAHA YC775 AMPS logo). The burn mark on the frame clearly shows the pins of the capacitor. And, for the avoidance of doubt, there is no way the board could have contacted the frame, it was correctly mounted on...

              3PHASE STEP-DOWN Transformer in Check
              by dennis_elx33
              Hello All,

i would like to post an interesting topic regarding 3-phase stepdown transformer which we suspect to cause an overcurrent (138A) which resulted to power tripped off of the HV power supply (80KV output).

              Problem statement: Power tripped Off

Initial Problem: Found 2 IGBT and 2 rectifier diodes shorted (burnt).

              Action Done:
              1) Replaced the faulty parts with good spare.
              2) Measured impedance of the 3phase input lines and found that L2 to L3 has 23.3ohm while other pairs are 51Kohm. This pins will...
