All new ten IGBT transistors bad or am I measuring wrong?

Recently purchased 10 RJH30E2 IGBTs from china. I go to measure them and none measure properly in diode mode + on C - on E then touch G with + while leaving - on E I still read OL

In about 4 of them I measure the protection diode from C to E

Are all of them bad or do they need more of a bias voltage that my meter doesn’t provide? It uses a 9v battery

Here’s the datasheet for the IGBT: https://www.scribd.com/mobile/docume...709293/RJH30E2

I would think you don`t have enough voltage from your test leads. Use a power supply a couple of resistors to test them, drive some current through them.

Why would you want to test new IGBTs though? You won`t find out if they are fake this way (at low voltages/currents)

What about only 4 of them giving a reading of the protection diode but the others no? Does it mean they’re bad?

wouldn't be the first time. A while back I had ordered 10 rare transistors from Ali and they were all fake.

just get some genuine ones ..i have had cheap fets from china that lasted about 20 seconds in an inverter then bang . it caused so much more damage the unit wasn't worth repairing afterwards .

                    Thanks for the links.

So the ones I have that I don’t measure the internal diode does that mean they’re bad?

I had to buy two lots of these from Ali, the first were fake and blew again immediately.
The second looked nicer and have lasted.

Did you try measuring the fake vs the real?

                            Hello there

I am trying to recovery my old HP Compaq laptop, and this time the problem is: using HWMonitor on Windows or sensors on linux, the temperature measures are shown in the picture, but when I touch the heatsink I would say the temperature is above 100ºC!!! what do you think is the problem?...

Power amplifier SMPS IGBT keeps blowing - Artcoustic PDA1000
                            by mikkele86
                            hello.

I have two power amplifiers, both having their IGBT blown on the PSU.
The original mounted IGBT where marked with IRGB20B60PD1PbF and the gate driver is a IR2156STRPBF.

I looked at mouser and digikey and could not find any available IRGB20B60PD1PbF and somehow ended up using a Bourns BIDW20N60T.
I replaced the gate driver, the gate resistor and both IGBT. But as soon power is turned on, both IGBT shorts out completely (gate, emitter, collector) and the fuse on the AC line gets killed.

So I though i missed a capacitor or diode. I removed...

Dynacord PowerMate 600 Powered Mixer - Protect Light On
                            by dicky96
                            Hi guys
I'm trying to repair this powered mixer. Sorry this is a bit long but I want to give as much info as possible to help get an answer,

As soon as it powers on the protect light comes on. There are relays that connect the speakers to each channel of the amplifier but they never click. If I connect a 60W light bulb in series with the mains supply it comes in bright then goes to maybe 30-50% brightness - it seems to dim a little further over time

I have power to the amplifier, I think it was as about plus/minus 50-60V for the main amp, and plus/minus 15V...

                            Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?
                            by ohren
                            Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

                            Measured voltages with no load:

                            After rectifier diodes
                            12V: 6.17 V
                            5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
                            12V: 2-2.5 V
                            5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

Technics SA-AX530 in protected mode. Overload message
                            by Francesc V.
I got a request from a friend of mine to have a look to his amplifier. When switching on "OVERLOAD" was displaying, however from time to time, message disappears and protection was removed.
I took some time in visual inspection (no bold caps, no solder joins, no burnt components neither hot burnt areas). I took some time to measure transistors and diodes. Everything seemed ok.

I realized that when OVERLOAD was on, pin 13 on IC601 (RSN307M44A-P) measured 5V. From time to time, when Amplifier was not protected pin 13 measured the right -1.5V
                            (Pin 13 goes through...
