Hello good people of badcaps.
im back with another question
Im trying adjust the current bias accordingly to the manual, but my meter is showing the same value no matter whatever position VR-804a/VR-804b is in.
DC bias is adjusted and is working as intended.
Is my settings on the multimeter wrong ? or should i look for a bad component
note: all transistor are new

Luxman R-5045 - Cant adjust current bias

Luxman R-5045 - Voltage too high accordingly to schematic
Hello.
got this Luxman R-5045 vintage amplifier which need a good repair and service.
finally got i started up and started to check voltages.
My issues is that the voltage measured is 3,5v to 4v higher than whats stated in the schematic.
Meaning voltages like +9v is like +13v
and +31v is measured to 34.6v which is really close to the capacitors rating +35v
I measured the voltage before the rectifier and im measuring 27v
did a online calculator and it showed i should actually get +36v after the recifier :/
So my question...

Luxman R-5045 - Needing help identifying component in AM/FM module
hello.
I came across this thing and im not sure what it is exactly, I have never seen such thing before.
I know it gotta be some kind of diode with Drain, Source and Gate1 and gate2
It resides in AM/FM module and im measuring 200ohm across D and S.

Luxman R-5045 - Capacitor at amplifier output broke, can i replace with higher capacitance ?
Hello Im renovation a Luxman R-5045
On the attached picture there is a cap 0.047uF (47nF) and a resistor, 10ohm. What is their purpose ? and what would happend if I were to replace the caps with lets say, 10nF or 100nF ?
because thats what i got in stock :/

Measured the gate resistor, 15ohm as stated. Path from Gate Pin on the IC to the pad where IGBT gate is, is also fine.
I did some reading on the gate driver and I think the driver is in a UVLO state. Under Voltage Lock-Out.
Im measuring +10.5v on the VCC pin on the IC.

Im measuring +4.5v on the SD (shutdown) pin

Got the bulbs. used the 100watt, lights up for split sec.
Everything seems to be running without the IGBTs
I have taken some measurements, with COM/negativ from the oscilloscope to the COM on the PCB (pin 8 on gate driver)
hope its done right 😅
HO and LO gate at the same time.
HO - pin 13 channel A (upper)
LO - pin 11 channel B (lower)

Thanks for pointing that out CapsLeaker.
there is a huge difference in rise and fall times.

Power amplifier SMPS IGBT keeps blowing - Artcoustic PDA1000
hello.
I have two power amplifiers, both having their IGBT blown on the PSU.
The original mounted IGBT where marked with IRGB20B60PD1PbF and the gate driver is a IR2156STRPBF.
I looked at mouser and digikey and could not find any available IRGB20B60PD1PbF and somehow ended up using a Bourns BIDW20N60T.
I replaced the gate driver, the gate resistor and both IGBT. But as soon power is turned on, both IGBT shorts out completely (gate, emitter, collector) and the fuse on the AC line gets killed.
So I though i missed a capacitor...Last edited by mikkele86; 01-06-2024, 09:17 AM.

Re: Dell Inspiron 13 5379, need EC for MEC1416-NU
succes its trying to start but shutdown after a few sec.
it was original with water damage, time for some probing.
Thanks ...

Hey SMDFlea.
thanks for noting that. what is meant from "main" ? like BIOS or Chipset or other ?...
