Re: FLUKE 179 problems
Calibration will likely be within specification +/- 1 count. They can take a lot of abuse and still be within spec.--- begin sig file ---

Re: FLUKE 179 problems
Thank you to Redwire and Retiredcaps for your help. It was indeed because of that article that I took a closer look. I also noticed on one of the pics I snapped, that the connection didn't look good but I put it off to lighting at first. When I finally checked the pathway, it all made sense. So I took a pick and easily pulled the inductor off the board. I will try it for the next few days before I am convinced that is all there is. For now, a sigh of relief. Simple fixes are bestComment

Re: FLUKE 179 problems
I was given a Fluke 187 which didn't seem to work correctly, turned out to be the input jacks, they were cracked at the PCB, but you couldn't easily see it, replacing the whole jack assay fixed the meter and it passed calibrationComment

by HondamanRecently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.
(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)
I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...-

by KhojaHello experts,
I recently purchased a used Fluke 123 Industrial Scopemeter from an online Japanese auction site (jauce.com). It has now been delivered. Unfortunately, I overlooked the fact that the seller neither guarantees its working condition nor accepts returns.
When I power it on, the backlight comes on, but there is no image on the screen. After opening the device, I noticed clear signs of previous soldering in several areas (photos attached). It seems someone attempted repairs before.
At this point, I'll have to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here... -
by clabrNeed help to solve some problems with this laptop.
After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)
Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)
Before this had happened I observed some other problems:
When I tried replacing original mecanical HDD with a SSD HDD could not get them... -
by BaldbentleyI am repairing a Fluke 335 clamp meter. After contacting fluke it appears there is no service manual or circuit board/ component list available. I have determined that there us a faulty PNP bipolar junction transistors shown in the pictures. I am having trouble sourcing this transistor. I pulled a good one off of the board and tested it with my component analyzer but I cannot find anything that matches the specifications. Any help locating this part or a replacement would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks... - Loading...
