    ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL washing boards

What is the right way to use GC isopropyl alcohol to clean some plasma chopper boards and some other boards

Tell me if I am wrong with the following

Make sure that the power disconnect is shut OFF
Do this on Friday and leave them OFF until Monday

Is there any thing else I should be a wear of

These boards that come from the factory have is clear coating it looks something like hot glue

The reason I want to clean them there some black residue on the clear coating

The other reason I want clean is because of the other post

if they dont contain coils or other "water traps", just wash them.

and if they do preheat oven to about 250f and dry them.
i wash with whatever seems to cut the crud best, thoroughly rinse with water, rinse with alcohol, then dry in oven.

Isopropyl alcohol as a cleaning agent?
            by ClockChip
            Hello All,

I wanted to check with the board before I do anything foolish and/or irreversible. Can someone please set me straight on the use of isopropyl alcohol to clean electronics? I understand it is commonly used to clean electrical contacts. However, in this case, I am wondering if I can safely immerse a small electronic item in alcohol provided a) all power has been removed and b) I take care to dry it thoroughly before re-applying power.

The short version is that I am seeking to clean an older used (well-used) electronic item. The basic plan is to immerse it in...

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
            by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

Apple M1 Boards & Exclamatory Error?
            by ugamazing
We've now created a stack of 10 boards that have the same issue, which we suspect to be CPU-related. The issue is very simple--the board will not boot to anything, only showing the exclamatory sign inside a circle. No amount of DFU/restore, wipe/erase, etc, will resolve the issue. No boards have physical damage. We went ahead and replaced the SSD nands on two boards (one 02020, one 02016) and the issue remained exactly the same. We are considering replacing the CPU on one of the boards using a locked CPU, just so we can see if it resolves the issue.

Has anyone else run into this...

Panasonic Plasma 2008 TH-42PV/PX series - Removing the coating from the Front Glass
            by tongshadow
I got this set for very cheap, it works perfectly but the catch is that the protective coating was damaged. About 45% of the screen had a green tint, you can see exactly where the layer changed colors to a blueish tone (that actually makes everything green).

"Ok, that's probably just the anti-glare layer" - I thought. So using a microfiber cloth and automotive metal polish I was easily able to turn it into a nice mirror.

Unfortunately, the damage was beyond this layer and everything still had a horrible green tint. I initially...
