Re: How can I organize SMD parts

I always can't find my parts, I am A messy man. If I can't find it I reorder it is more fast than looking for it. I used shoe box problem is I have 10 of those I still can't find. I try use spreadsheet that is too much work and I forgot to input the quantity.

PS: I have 3 Compartment Organiser Boxes fill with old junks.

PS: And piles of piles PCB, when I need it. It is very hard to dig into PCB piles.

Here's all mine. Chinese take away tubs, some slightly larger with anti static bags in and some with multi compartments. Used with an excel spreadsheet so I know what I have and where it is.

MDF shelving and desk built by me also.

Here's some more and some mess.

Those shelves that you have with the sag in the middle need support.

smd parts need stickers on the strips or the reels depending on how many you have. mine are in strips . like 30 or something .. might be better to pop them out into a small jar but might get messy that way . i cant see them without my glasses on and under the magnifier glass .

For the Used parts only , i always leave them in their boards , and trace them when needed with schematics (the parts section ) . It's the best way i think .
But i guess , it's much easier when you have a successful business to find any part you'll need without going online .It's very rare for me to need online sites .

First I tried SMT storage boxes from China but kinda too small, they don't hold taped parts, and bumping them causes an explosion of parts...

Next I am using binders with:
3x3 collectors "Playing cards pockets", which is OK with paper labels.

                              This looks a bit better:
Zipper pockets or "Zip Punched Pocket".

                              (pictures are copy pasta)

i use matchstick boxes (safety matches) for small parts. cheap, super cheap.

6 (or was it 8) tiny boxes fit into one larger box (those with 250-300 sticks inside) which is wide enough to fit a label.
dry by design, thick double cardboard walls, won't open by itself if it drops off the table

They're expensive on Amazon, here I can buy about 30-40 tiny boxes or 4 large ones for 1$

Well um pictures will have to wait as the bunker went from tidy to untidy in about a day. had a lot of repairs come in this week, for parts storage though I use double sided multi craft carriers / small organiser's that I get from one of the local discounter stores. Otherwise I have a large board repository which is split between working and boards for parts.

The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...

What parts can be salvaged from a plasma with a damaged display panel?
                                          by SurrealMustard
I recently found myself the proud owner of a later-model Samsung plasma (the PN59D7000 for those keeping score at home) whose panel was, unfortunately, damaged in transport. I'm now preparing to part it out, but am curious as to whether or not any damage would have come to any of the components by attempting to power it up with the panel being broken. I read in one Avsforum thread (for whatever that's worth 😂) that the "scan driver boards" (by which I assume he means buffer boards) could be impacted by doing so. Is that actually the case? If so, since I don't intend on selling bad...

                                          Hi,

I have an Asus Rog Strix B360-I Gaming with missing parts. I know there is a resistor missing for sure, but nearby it seems there might have been also a transistor or mosfet. Below the picture of the area on the board with the missing parts. The interesting area is inside the rectangle.

I'd appeciate if somebody could make a detailled picture of this area from a working board and post it here. Getting the parts values would also be helpful. The revision of the board is 1.02 .

                                          Thanks in advance...

                                          Hello,

I'm hoping someone could help me confirm if I have identified the following parts correctly.

Apparently the DP cable became stuck inside the graphics card and was yanked out. This caused some sort of short which burned the DP contacts and blew some resistors and ferrite beads.

The parts needing replacement are on the back of the board behind the HDMI input.

I have identified the parts as the following:

                                          C6037: MLCC 0.1uf/16v(0402)x7R W05

                                          R6016: RES 499 OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%

                                          LB10911: Ferrite Bead (0402)...
