A new DSO under 300$..... i would go for siglent or owon, if you can increase your bugdet i would buy the famous rygol 1054Z as you can unlock many features for free!

I was the "proud" owner of a Rigol 1054z. My advice. Don't buy it.
At first I was carried away with so much enthusiasm on this forum and Dave videos and decided to buy it.
Once I got it, I discovered that it is full of bugs and very unstable, noisy inputs a.s.o.
Have no idea how Siglent are managing these problems but probably much better than Rigol. Not to mention that if a bug is reported to Rigol it will take years to fix that. After those years, you'll be surprised to see that after fixing those bugs they will induce new ones to the newest firmwares.

If you don't want to live with the problems of the rigol what you are looking for is a professional DSO, not an entry level 300$ unit, maybe like 1500-2000$, i also have the 1054Z and works perfectly fine for my requeriments.

I have unlocked all options (don't enable 500uV function as it has problems because it was never designed to support that) and about the logic analyzer i can't say as i don't use it, in fact i have a chinesse copy of the saleae unit.

"cheka" or better said "checar/chequear" is commonly used in spanish from south america, not in Spain, we would commonly use "comprobar" or other words and as you guessed it means "to test" or "to check"

Thank you, You know today I ask my friend " why customer say(Cuanto para checar la tele?). He said the same thing as you. He also told me Tele is televisión or televisor.

PS: I never hear they say usted, they say tú. He told me Spanish is very easy to spelling It is easier than English. I like they use Bailame, Bésame, Déjame is so beautiful and simple.

How not to Damage an Oscilloscope
                    by Tarot Superstars
                    Hello.
I have jut got my first analogue oscilloscope. An Isotech 620 20MHz.

I want to learn how not to damage it, and I found instructions on the internet obscure.
They talk about ground, earth, floating ground, this, that....
But they don't actually say anything anything useful so far.

                    I want to know:
Don't connect exactly this to exactly there or it blows up.

For example, I am tracing a signal from a function generator in an audio amp, or testing for voltages in different parts of a circuit.
I want to know what not to connect...

Sony STR-DE445 did I get a faulty IC?
                    by goodpsusearch
Hello, I got this AVR for cheap and tried to fix it as a fun and learning project.

First the audio video receiver would turn on but had no sound at all, but no "PROTECT" message.

So, I opened the metal case and noticed some marks showing that some liquid has been spilled on the amp. Those water marks were found on the main board and the digital board.

I disassembled everything, then checked every single cap on every board of the amp and recapped when needed.

Also fixed A LOT of cold solder joints and also done some modifications,...

Recently my father-in-law sent my wife and I out to Arkansas from SLC, Utah to pick up a van. Weird, but true. My father-in-law owns an auto repair shop and found this beefed-out van with a wheelchair lift (I guess those are really expensive).

The woman we picked it up from was getting rid of her father's estate after he passed.

While we were there - she had opened his garage to give us the extra seat for the van - I saw an oscilloscope sitting in the corner. I guess the guy was an engineer. One of the really really smart ones that worked on projects 12 levels above...
