    replacing transistor AO4409 with AO4407

laptop motherboard near battery charge socket
    tested components
    i found a shorted Ao4409
i tried 2 times replace it with AO4407 they get shorted also
so could it be possible to replace or there's somthing els that short this trasnistor like PWM ic
i know this thread looks silly but i'm new in electronic stuff

The 4407 has lower current handling, 12A instead of 15A, it also has higher RDSon, 13mOhms instead of 7.5mOhms (the higher the numbers the hotter the MOSFET will be due to higher Vdrops).
But more likely that what ever is connected to the load side of the MOSFET may be drawing too much current and caused the failure.

      thanks for reply
      and excuse my ignorance
i follow board schematics i found transistor should be si4459ad like it was repaired before

i search for availabe components in my office
      only i did find TPC8111
      from comparing
      current plused -45 A ___ other -70 A
what the chances of replacing si4459ad with TPC8111

usually there are 2 or 3 P-Channel mosfet on a laptop motherboard.
if the mosfet near DC socket, its no problem to replace with 4409 and 4407.
and if the mosfet near to battery socket, must be replace with almost same mosfet.

LG TV Need help replacing a Bipolar Small signal Transistor
            by sigmeyer
Ok , so i got this TV from a friend of mine.So to start it off Its a plasma TV.When turned on it the red light comes on , then after a couple seconds the light goes off, and it repeats like that. You can hear the Relay click on for a few seconds then off ... So it wasnt an obvious short on the mains input thats for sure. I opened it up , and mind you, i have never seen an inside of a plasma TV so it suprised me to say the least. There are 3 massive power boards. The main one , then we have the board that is connected to another board which then goes to the TV (i assume those are some kind of drivers...

            Hello
Got this speaker from a friend , defective. Power led comes on and off , in a loop.
Disassembled, got the board out, and after a bit of measuring I found a low resistance on a 5v6 line. With a bit of current I found a transistor heating up on that line (labeled T1 and 113 as on pic).
After removing this guy, I got a value of 0.7 in diode mode on that 5v6 line, which before had 0.02 or something like that.

I tested powering it up without the IC, and the speaker turns on and stays on, and works fine

Still, I need to replace this transistor....

hi people, i need some help to identify a transistor(q14) that is missing on the board, so the gpu has no voltage i think that q14 activate the phases for gpu, but i dont have schematic or boardview, but i think its the same transistor than q15 and q16, thanks...

Help with blowing transistor NAD T752 receiver
            by rddube
            Hello everyone,

I guess I need help from the masters to try and find what is frying a 2SC5669 transistor on the left channel of this front center Amp for a NAD T752.

Was working perfectly and all of a sudden I heard a pop, and then a glow from the amp. Not only did the 2SC5669 burn a leg, but R520 which is a 220 ohm resistor partially burned - it now measures 110 ohms.

I bought this amp second hand fairly cheap as it was not working, it went into protection mode. I finally traced it down to the same transistor Q510, the one that just popped. It was shorted...
